Project X around the Greens (A short game nightmare)

I have been messing around with a few sets of irons. Over the last few months I have been playing a set of callaway x20 tours with project x flighted. Really liked the playability and forgiveness, but noticed I was having trouble around the greens with chipping and bump and runs. Just got a new set of nike vr split cavity irons and all of a sudden I am able to knock it close to the pin. I also noticed this with an older set of titleist irons, its easier to get up and down. Biggest difference between the x20 tours and the nike/titleist sets are the shafts. Both the nikes and the titleists have dynamic gold s300's and the callaway's have project x flighted. Is anyone else having issues with project x shafts around the green? The ball at times just seems to jump off the club face with project x's, has anyone else noticed this? Just looking for some feedback.
