Taylormade TP Forged?

I was wondering if someone has a little more information on these irons. The make up is 3-PW and i haven't seen this offering from Taylormade before...... have i been taken for a ride or is this an okay pick up?

obviously, anything you buy second hand could be counterfeit, but this model did exist

+1 Look exactly like the Japan only version. I had a set of basically the same rac tp's and they were $.

Great irons, don't really remember fakes of these floating around. They also look correct to me. I've played with a guy who has a set and he loves them.

These are known as the 2008 TP Forged Model (Japan). Specs are identical to the 2007 R7 Forged (Japan). They have a little more offset than most Players Irons. I played these for the last couple years, but have moved on to the U.S. TP CBs which have a little larger head design. Below is a some comparison pics.

The head is smaller The 2009 TP Japan version.

There was in fact an issue with counterfeits. Unless you know someone who speaks Japanese it will be difficult to confirm the serial number. Check for circular milling on the club face - it's one sign. A countrfeit most likely won't have milling.
