Hit inside today also. 585H felt great compared to the Nickent. Which shaft are you going to go with? Not crazy about the stock shafts though was hitting the NV85. Offering UST V2 or IROD would have been nice. May have to custom order or go with DG300. Picked up the 906F2 with V2 which makes an easier purchase.

Any comments on V2 or IROD for hybrids is appreciated.

If you're willing to go with an aftermarket shaft change, the Aldila VS Hybrid 95 is amazing. It's easily the best feeling shaft that I've ever swung, very smooth loading with a great deal of feel. The flight is high and boring with a very soft landing. I've hit the V2 100 and just didn't like the feel of the tip in the 585.

I got the 19* and the NV...Not extremely crazy about the shaft, but I have it in my driver as well, so might feel "normal" for the first couple rounds. I'm reshafting the driver and the 585 soon though....I might go with the IROD for the 585. Might go v2, but if so, I'll go down a flex cause that shaft is boardy for me.

i found this head to work very well with a steel shaft, and the feel doesnt compare to anyother fairway wood or hybrid out there, the new fairway and hybrd are the forged clubs or hybrids and 3 woods

Thanks. I had pretty much written-off Aldila. Very few guys are playing both V2s and Aldila shafts in the same bag. Usually you like one and not the other. The VS Hybrid 95 must not have that wet noodle feel. I want high ball flight with control out of this club. Do you like your other V2s? Haven't had the V2 in my 906 out yet but seems need to be loaded correctly to work well. I may look into the VS95. I was going to put DG200s in my irons also which is a bit different.

I've been thinkning about getting a hybrif but I don't know if I should get steel or graphite. Can I order a steel and put a graphite shaft in it if I don't like it??

I haven't hit this club yet but I have been wating for my local shop to get them in

Yeah, this is usually what I do with my fairwoods...at least nowadays, OEM's are putting in good shafts to begine with.

Now for the review...Just got home...Overall, I'm pleased with the club. I tried anything I could with the club. The course was slow today, so even with a fairway drive, I would throw a ball or two into the rough and bunkers, even some divots... It cut through the 4 in rougn with no problem, it picked from the fairway bunkers beautifully, i was able to work the ball well (more so right than left, but that explanation is coming soon). It felt great on flush hits, and even toe/heel misses it was nice and straight, just loss in distance, but you could feel the mishit, which is something my TM rescue doesn't allow...The TM was sometimes too forgiving (couldn't work the ball much at all) and couldn't feel a mishit.

As I mentioned above, I'm pleased with it. The only reason I'm not extremely pleased is probably 95% due to the shaft. First off, I'm a borderline R vs. S, smooth tempo swinger, so the NV stiff with the borethru was a bit stiff which is one reason I couldn't work the ball left too well, and some of the shots were a little lower than I would like. Maybe pulling it up the borethru a bit will help, but I'll probably just reshaft it. I have a s200 in my TM, and it might be the way to go. Even an R300 or DGSL with the borethru will probably be nice. I'm going to look into more hybrid graphite shafts as I do like the lighter weight of the graphite. Any ideas on what to look for? So, with a little higher flight and correct shaft, I got a feeling I'll be very happy with it and extremly pleased. Just like with every other club, it's all about the shaft!!

As for the loft, I went with the 19* and I think I'll stick with it. I like my 3 iron (21*) so I'm thinking about dropping my 60* instead of the 3iron. The 19* will give a nice transition from the 904 15* to the 3 iron 21*. Also, choking up a 1/2 inch, inch, or more will help me control distance much better than getting a higher loft and just trying to go after it everytime when I need the extra distance.

Looking forward to finding a new shaft and playing this club again soon!!

I have a 19 degree with an S400 shaft in it, 1/2 inch over. As close to perfect as I've seen in a hybrid. Almost shameful how much more I like this club over my old TM Rescue TP and Baffler. Very solid, no danger of the random lefts, easy to get it up without ballooning. This club basically replaces my 3-iron/5-wood - would consider dumping the 4-iron as well if they made a 23 or 22 degree (they don't). Just a very good, no bull*&^% club.
