Help for Bastrop Wildfire Victims

Hi all,

 

Just wanted to start a topic that might be a big help to any and all the victims of the Bastrop Texas wildfire. As some of you know I relocated to Bastrop Texas in early 2011.

My wife and I found our dream home on the Pine Forest Golf Course and thought we were starting our new life and making our plans for future retirement.

 

That was before Sept 4th 2011. We were on a family vacation when the texts and phone calls started to come in. The Texas forrest service and the Bastrop Fire Dept had issued a mandatory evacuation of our Tahitian Village subdivision due to a wildfire that was out of control.

 

As of this writing there has been over 35000 acres burned and over 1100 homes that were lost. Our home is included in these figures. We found out yesterday that we have nothing left to go back to and all our memories and dreams have been put on hold.

 

This is where the GOLFWRX community comes in. I would like to offer my assistance in getting as much help as I can to all the families that have been affected. If you would like to help with and clothing donation or other forms of donations I would be HONORED to be the person who represents the BEST GOLF SITE communtity in the world and make sure that ANY AND ALL donations will reach the local victims of this disaster. I will be monitoring any PM's and all responses to this post a few times a day, so bare with me.

Any ideas how to coordinate any monitary donations for this effort from the the higher ups here on GOLFWRX would be appreciated. Any how all clothing donations should be sent to the following address.

Wow, so sorry to hear about you loss. rough times in your area for sure. I live in Pa and the towns around me got some real bad flooding the last couple of days. couple of my relatives were close to the areas hit hard but they were spared. like you said , these times are what brings us together. glad to see that you and your family are ok. fellow members lets try and help out where we can, I know times are ought but I am sure we all have some clothes that we can send to help out. I will be looking to see what I can send you. looking first hand at what is happening to people can really make you appreciate what you have as well as inspire us to help out .shoot me a pm when you get some time and we can discuss further please. thank you and good luck !
