Annapolis Golf Courses

Anyone from the Annapolis Maryland area on here? I'm looking for a decent course to play this Sat. My wife has a conference there and doesn't want to drive down there by herself so I'm stuck going on the trip and looking for a place to play. Would like something that won't break the bank to bad. My vote goes to Compass Pointe. I like Renditions too. Bay Hills is ok.

I was looking on the other forum and there was a thread about annapolis area courses from about a year ago. It said that Renditions was in poor condition (again this was a year ago). Do you know how the conditions are now? Also looked at the website for Compass Pointe. Looks like theres 2 courses there. What one do you like best? Thanks

I like Compass Pointe's North-East layout a little better. I have played both many times.
There was a recent thread about the greens being aerated at Renditions and they were in poor shape. I never experienced poor conditions there but I have heard others complain about Renditions. I played it back in July and it was fine. A little slow play though.. I never heard anything bad about Compass Pointe. I havn't played there since early spring.
I travel about an hr to get to either. Hopefully some of the Md guys will chime in and give their 2cents worth. Most of them on here seem to live that way or atleast have alot more knowledge of the area then I do.

Yea i'm driving about 4 hours (deep creek lake area) to get down there so I def want to play something nicer than what I'm used to

Play Lake Presidential in Prince George County if you can get away from the Annapolis area. Eisenhower isn't terrible but it will be very wet after all the ran we have had over the last month or so. I would agree with Compass Pointe it's a very nice course and no where as expensive as Lake Presidential.

There is also queenstown harbor right over the bay bridge.

Not from Annapolis but wife grew up there and her family is still there. I have had many chances to play courses around the area. My favorites are Eisenhower (price) but I agree it will be very wet, Compass Pointe is very nice, Queenstown is great too. Haven't played Lake Presidential but I hear great things about it.

Queenstown is a treat to play. It takes a little more effort for me to get there. But well worth the trip.

I called Renditions and they have a par 5 thats now a par 3 with no break in price for this. So I'm leaning towards Compass Pointe or one of the Queenstown courses. Thanks for the replys

Renditions is a very fun course to play. i was amazed the first time how good of a job they did to copy the other courses.

My folks live near Ocean City, so I fly into Baltimore when I visit.

i always take the late flight out so I can play Queenstown on the way out.

Great course.

They have two, but I always play the River, not the Lakes.

Queenstown and Hunters Oak, both across the bay. Lake Presidential on Annapolis side of bay.

Renditions is a nice layout, but 5-10 yds off the fairway or green is GRAVEL. Renditions used to be a gravel pit years ago and it's still a problem. Played Compass Pointe end of August and it was in terrible shape. Queenstown is THE top rated and conditioned course in the Annapolis area,,bar none.
