CF 4000Tourney Diamond back

I need some help identifying these. Nothing unusual about these heads and I have seen a few others diamond backs but this set has a 3 ring grooved hosel that I have not seen before. All the others had two bands of knurled X on the hosel. They came with a set of Tourney Super eye-o-matic woods and a heel shafted TPM III

blade putter.

These are MacGregor Tourney PT2s...with interesting colors (have also seen the "MacGregor Tourney" in Yellow).
The iron number stamps are from the 50s....
The [b]FC 4000[/b] describes the Flame Ceramic process of the face ([i]should be black, but without photos...[/i])

Any photos of the Super Eye O Matic woods?

Isn't the Spalding [b]T[/b]ouring [b]P[/b]ro [b]M[/b]odel a contracted version of the TP Mills Handmade Designs?...

rex235, these Tourney irons are [u]black ceramic faced.[/u] The woods were passed on to another member here on this board "Maxwell" who will likely restore them. I have a set of 1-3-4 mid '80 Nicklaus Super eye-o-matic that I intend to mate with these irons for play purpose. The irons are still in original spec and the leather grips are mint as well.
My main concern right now is to get a definitive ID on these irons as I have not seen another with 3 ring grooves in the hosel.

yes, the Spalding Touring Pro Model (TPM) was a contracted model by Mills during his Spalding association. I have several in my collection but the[u] pencil-shafted[/u] TPM I and III are the best of the lot IMO ,and I put them in play

The shaft still has the original banding- Pro-Feel by MacGregor with 2 black diamonds and another diamond with P in the middle of it. There is another black band below with gold R to designate regular flex

The 3 ring [u][i]knurling[/i][/u] you show is a common trait of the MacGregor Tourney Colokroms (1955-1957).

Are the leather grips black with gold threading?

thanks rex, that reference to the earlier Colokroms narrows it a bit.
As you can see from the earlier photo, the face is the black ceramic. Unusual for it to have traits of both model types.
The grips are black leather but what gold thread there was is gone, if indeed it ever existed on them. I can't find a trace of gold thread on any and all the grips are in very good condition. The edges on the leather wrap look like they were originally left raw,untreated from the beginning.
