I'm not familiar with the Nikon but my Bushnell V2 works fine. It's accurate and easy to lock on to a target. Still on the original battery.

just to confuse you further lets add a Vs Leopold G1 section.
I had a Nikon 500 laser, that failed when I ran it over with the cart. (note to self, don't put laser in outside cup holder they can get bumped out)
Replaced that with a Garmin GPS.
and now it is for sale as I liked the laser better for several reasons

Vs GPS
Accuracy
Faster in use for me.
Far longer battery life, a lot longer.

vs Nikon 550
it has a larger field of view and better eye relief for use with sunglasses on, also, it's smaller.

vs Bushnell v2
similar form as bushel v2 but I like the optics and the crosshairs better (plus they are selectable)
