Anyone using this Sun Mountain bag?

Me...it's nice and light but forget about stuffing a ton of stuff in it. In fact, I found that there was not really anywhere to store keys/wallet/waterproofs/food/balls/tees without having to really cram it in on top of each other. FWIW the difference between this and the next Sun Mountain up in terms of weight is negligible. Looks great sitting in my garage doing absolutely nothing after 2 rounds though.

I just purchased the Sun Mountain 3.5 2007 version. It is a great bag. Might be an option. Very light, nice stand, water bottle pouch. Great for walking.

I just saw this bag today and it looks really cool. I think that additional 1lb less weight than the 3.5 will make a big difference on a warm summer day when walking the course. And it even has a drink pouch!

 

My concern is that the 7" top will make it hard to get clubs in and out of the bag.

 

It reminds me of the old Ping Mantis bag that I had a couple of years ago. Another great summer bag.

I use the Mini and love it. The 2007 version is the one to get, as they changed the ball pocket zipper and the stand so that it would actually stand up. You almost have to have a drink in the bag to balance it, unless you carry more than 8 balls. I don't carry much with me, and can strap my rain gear to the outside if I need to.

 

There is a huge difference in my opinion in the weight of this bag compared to all other full size bags. This difference can be felt after only a few holes walking with it. I have carried my Mini for 123 rounds this year (almost always with 14 clubs in it), and would not trade it for another bag.

I've had the 2005 Sun Mountain MPB bag and it's an awesome bag. Of course it's very heavy but this bag has floored me with the quality and the durability of this bag. The only 2 gripes I have about this bag is it doesn't fit well on a motorized cart and it's heavy. Hope this helps, Steve.
