Scratch Wedges

Tour Custom, 1018 Forged, & 8620 Milled
I am looking for a little feedback on Scratch Wedges.

Who has experience with all 3 of the lines Scratch produces -- Tour Custom, 1018 Forged, & 8620 Milled?

I am also considering the Vokey SM4 and the Cleveland 588 Forged.

What is your feedback and recommendations?

I currently play Mizuno T11's in 52 and 56 degree. I am not sure how I feel about them after 1 season of play. I love my MP68's.

What I want is is a gap wedge of 50 to 52 degrees that has more of a shape profile of my MP68 PW. I want less camber in my GW. I am not sure if I purchased a new MP68 if I could have it bent to 50 to 52 degrees without hurting it. That may be the solution.

If money is no object, you can not beat the Scratch tour custom. I have all 3 Scratch options and you can't go wrong with any of them.
I currently play 1018 Forged 50/55 and a 8620 Milled 60. I like the smaller size of the cast club in the lob wedge.

Do you lose much in going with the cheaper 8620 milled? Other than the customization is there much difference? The milled model reminds me of the Vokey in terms of the appearance of the face.

If you're sensitive enough you may notice a difference in feel/sound.

I came from forged wedges ( play forged irons too).... At first (actually the first few rounds and range sessions) I thought I made a big mistake buying these... There is a different feel/click of a cast wedge, for sure.

I now love them. LIke anything new, it just takes time to "figure" them out.

All three lines are very solid offerings. I would recommend you choose something similar to what you are currently playing.

If you play a cast wedge (i.e. Cleveland, Vokey, Ping) then go with the 8620 line.

If you play a forged wedge (i.e. Mizuno, Miura, Vega) then go with the 1018 line.

If you need your wedges custom hand ground, go with the Tour Custom wedges.

By sticking with a wedge similar to what you are already playing the transition will be a lot smoother.

perfectly stated.

I wish I would have gone 1018, but all good now....

I play the 8620 line of Scratch wedges and the yare the best I have had (Vokeys / Bridgestone / Callaway). Great feel, spin and tailored to my needs.

You can't go wrong in my book with Scratch.

My favorite thing about scratch is you get your options on grinds and bounce which is a huge advantage IMO. I can get more bounce on my gap wedge then my lod wedge and choose between 3 options stock for bounce on irons where you generally don't choose you get what TM or Titleist or Ping etc deemed was right. I also can't believe the personal touch you get with Scratch, I've ordered from them twice directly now and both times I have been emailing Ari, the owner of the company and he responds within minutes literally. We found out were from the same area and I hope to get to play with him sometime, I need to get my hands on a scratch putter to see if it can take out the betti I've got scratch from 4i all the way down to my 60 with plently of back ups. I've tried them all, mizuno, tm, titleist, TEE, ping, cleveland, callaway, and more irons and no one is taking scratch out thats forsure. Do yourself a favor and atleast get a wedge I bet you'll want to see what the irons are all about

Let me ask the OP this. Is cost really an issue? If it is, then you can probably take the TD offering off your list.

Unfortunately I can only comment on the TD and otr 1018. Been wanting to try the 8620, but haven't had a reason to. I will say that the TD shines over the other options due to the custom shape and grind. I like my wedges a bit smaller and more square than anything you will find retail. Also, the grind options had me confused so I basically told patrick what i'm looking for and how I use my wedges. he came up w/ something that i've been really happy with so far.
