9-10 handicap, tips for consistency with grip

When I'm swinging well, as I have been the last couple rounds I've played over the last month or so, I can break 80 with ease, My last 3 rounds were a 75, 79, and a 78. But when I struggle, it's with my grip, specifically my left thumb. At the top of the backswing, I have the feeling, or I get the urge, to let the thumb slide up and down the grip during the transistion. It's seriously like the shanks, every once in a while I just get a phase of this, and it seems as though there's nothing I can do to fix it. Does anyone have any good drills/tips/thoughts/advice as to how to take care of this p in the a? Here's some of my best swings of the summer that were caught on memory
