Got my EBN wedge yesterday, and have 27 holes in with it now. Awesomeness! Had one sand save with it already. Feel is softer than I expected for an 8620 wedge, and the spin is similar to other Scratch wedges I've owned that didn't have conforming grooves. Thanks Ari for this great offer! :clapping:

Got my 60* with the SLT grind and and a 56* with an EBN grind. I really needed to replace my 8620s that were over 2 years old.

The raw finish is very cool looking. Scratch also did some sort of sandblast on the face which created a nice visual difference between the grooved area of the face and the rest of the head. Not a big fan of colored ferrules or paintfill so my new wedges are pretty plain except for having my initials stamped on the back of the heads.

What I noticed right away was that these heads are smaller than my original 8620s, by approx 1/8" in both heel-to-toe and the face height measurement. That may not seem like much, but it was VERY noticeable to me. Not sure if it is just the "tour" heads that are smaller or if the 8620s in general have been reshaped since I bought mine a couple of years ago.

I play my wedges over-length and the Scratch guys did a port on the heads to keep the swingweight in the D5/D6 range (try getting Vokey or TM to do that for you...)

Below are some side-by-side pics of my new wedges compared to my old 8620s. I did some face-on pics of both the 56 and 60 to try to show the size differences, but it isn't quite as dramatic as it is in person. Also showed the groove wear on my lob wedge after 2 years and a close up of the current ABC grooves on the SLT.

I know a lot of folks out there have concerns about getting clubs from a non-major OEM, but let me tell you, dealing with Scratch has been great (for the 2nd time) and I think you would be very impressed if you give their wedges a chance.

Looks really good. Ever considered filling the ported area with some light material/metal?

what is so special about Scratch wedges?
In my opinion, Scratch Golf offers the widest variety of sole grinds, separated into three player categories (Sweeper/Slider, Driver/Slider, and Digger/Driver) and they have been the most-playable wedges that I have ever owned in my 27.5 years of playing golf. After purchasing an early Scratch forged PDG wedge from eBay in about 2006-2007, I started my custom-fit Scratch wedge arsenal with a pair of the first-generation 8620 Milled (now non-conforming) wedges that Ari had custom-made for me at the end of 2007 to early 2008. These were a 53* and a 60* Driver/Slider pair which I still have, but which are now worn to a point where I no longer carry them. I have since been playing a 47* Scratch 8620 wedge instead of the PW in my set, plus a 50* 8620 Milled Driver/Slider, a 54* (now bent to 55* loft) custom-made raw 1018 Froged SW (personally ground for me by Don White), and a 60* 8620 Driver/Slider. I occasionally go with just 50*, 53* or 54*, and 58* (all in the 8620 D/S Grinds).

Attention to detail, knowledge of what is needed in wedge designs to fit the style of wedge play by different types of golfers, multiple customization options, and great-performing products in general .... these are just a few of the things that make Scratch Golf wedges (and their irons, too) so special!
