Hogans Secret I got It

I don't think Hogan had a secret, he practiced like crazy. It is well known that if you eliminate one side of the fairway you will be in play more often.

As for the theory of a flat swing that is not new either. If you watch Moe Norman his swing was flat and he repeated it with every club. I have never subscribed to Moe's swing because it was unique to Moe, however, he was widely acknowledged as the most accurate ever and he also practiced like crazy.

hogan was flat moe was flat, tiger was "too steep" when he won with harmon. Mike Bennett may be the greatest swinger of the golf club using the stack and tilt. Greg Norman was a great ball striker. the ONE thing they all had in common...alot of hours,days and probablly decades swinging the golf club.

I think you're on the right track. While a few posters have had some fun with you (believe me, it's good-natured), you're showing some very solid golf I.Q.! You're recognizing course management (eliminating one side of the fairway) as one key to improving your scores rather than just being mechanically sound. There are quite a few good golfers your age but I haven't seen too many that recognize smart course management as a difference maker. Spend a ton of time spent on your short game, think your way around the golf course and you will pull away from the pack. Keep posting and best of luck to you.
