Craft beer Drinkers Unite!

Have an awesome craft beer store by me at school, and had a new personal favorite the other day. Its called the Brown Note. Its an American Brown Ale, which a dude pooping as the label, if you see it give it a go. I personally tried it because of the label and it turned out be very good.

My three Black Tuesday's are at home resting, the two day event looked amazing at the Bruery facility. The glass gets released tomorrow.. Stoked.

Pinner is a great session IPA and I think Oskar Blues is one of the most solid breweries around. All of their beers are solid and readily available. I am really hoping to snag some BBA Ten Fidy to try.

Had the Pinner tonight and really liked it. Drank it next to a Founders All Day IPA and while they are both very different, they each appealed to me in different ways. The Pinner had a hoppier flavor, but was cleaner and lighter, while the All Day had more citrus and was sweeter and richer.

I stumbled upon an awesome DIPA last night called "Rez gets smashed" from witches hat brewing. If anyone is in the Detroit area they should look it up.

Witches Hat is in South Lyon, but I had it on tap at the Clarkston Union.

Is 5am too early to open a beer? Early AM vet visit pretty much sucked. Pup will be in hospital until Monday at the earliest.

This year's backwoods good but lacks some of the caramel and smoke from last year's not as much of a campfire roasted marshmallow soaked in caramel as it was last year

:D At least now I'm all set for a long time. Will try to "age" a few too. When I saw these sitting there, my heart skipped a few beats. It is a perverse sense of excitement I tell you, and it also felt good clearing the shelf of them.

In other news, I cracked this open on Halloween for the parental pre-trick or treating festivities. Pretty good, I liked it better than their sidamo stout.

Really good. To clarify I like both their bourbon sidamo coffee and non-bourbon coffee stouts too. The bourbon barleywine by nature seems a little more refined and goes down easier, even if it 13% ABV vs the approx 10% of the other two.

Urgh went looking for Backwoods today and was not able to find any The Harvest Ale is good but with all of you guys raving about the Backwood I want to try it so bad. Any recommendations for how to track it down? I feel like I am trying to buy a Wii for Christmas when the Wii first came out. Also I was just wondering how is the breakfast beer?

Is the harvest ale the wet hopped? I've been meaning to try that.

My liquor store connection told me backwoods would be easier to find this year. They should be getting it in a week or so.

Yes it is the wet hopped one. It's the first wet hopped beer that I have had but you can taste how it is wet hopped. I enjoy it, its like a light IPA basically.

I hope you're right I might have to wait to go home for thanksgiving break. Unfortunately I go to school in VA you can only really get craft beer at 2 beer stores in my town the rest are ABC stores and grocery stores.
