Anyone playing these?
I'm trying to decide what shaft would be similar or perhaps even better than Dynalite XP S300. I have decided to go with Bridgestone J-40 CB's and they do not offer the XP S300's. I tried the 1050gh shafts in a Mizino MP62 and liked them but they did feel a bit light.Has anyone played the 120 Tours and what are your thoughts?

They seem to be a love or hate shaft, as I recall tip stiff and butt soft. I had some stiff flex Modus and they went too high and flew all over. I think they played soft to flex and butt soft shafts have not worked for me. Some say they are mid high, accurate and very smooth, not me though.

Have you considered hard stepping the Modus 3 x Flex??

Description
Specifications
With over fifty years of relentless Research and Development, Nippon Shaft has established the benchmark with a commitment to excellence and innovation in the design of steel and graphite golf shafts for professionals and amateurs alike.

Our integrated production lines are strictly monitored and controlled with thorough checks conducted in a highly responsible manner throughout the whole production process. This is one way Nippon Shaft controls high product quality - from material selection to final testing - and sets the company apart from its competition with an unmatched quality level that has others in the industry playing catch up.

The move to the PGA Tour is a logical step in the evolution of Nippon Shaft - the world's best shafts should be showcased weekly in the highest level tournament competition. For many years golfers have wondered why Nippon Shaft did not offer heavier, tour-required performing shafts for the faster swing speed players.

It takes time and exhaustive testing to create products to match the performance requirements of the best players. Listening to player feedback over the last 12 months, new "tour" prototypes were developed to suit the needs of tour professionals and have been further refined and engineered in response to their comments.

Now, the benefits of the high quality and consistent performance of our award winning lightweight N.S. Pro 950GH series can now be found in our new series, N.S. Pro Modus3. I set one up as a demo in a X forged 6iron. I use the same head for all of my fittings. The shaft launched higher, almost ballooning affect, thank the KBS Tour and PX 5.5.

I think that they play similar to the XPS300 IMO.

I have a couple of sets of the XPS300's, pm me if you need some.

Thanks for the posts guys. I'm a newbie here on WXR and really should have maybe posted this in the other forum on Clubmaking I suppose. Just getting my wings wet here...LOL. I'm just getting back into golf again after 13 years. I used to be a 3.4 index so my swing is not back up to where I want it and may never get to where it was but in saying that, I'm a perfectionist and have a lot of feel in my game. I did the Mizuno fitting with the shaft optimzer and that's where the DG XP specs derived from as they fitted me with MP 59's. But I later demo'd and fell in love with the Bridgestone irons and want to give them a go. My old clubs are Titiest Tour Blades with DG S300's. Can't believe the how hard they are to hit now or should I say responsive. Miss hits I feel all the way up into my hands. But after studying all the game impovement equipment out there, I've realized feel is my friend and my asset . So getting fit with proper shafts now and perhaps upgrading them later when my swing is crisp again is my focus. Everything is progression.

For now, I want to feel the club head and perhaps a slightly lighter shaft might giving me that feel. The XP is 13 grams lighter than DG standard where as the Nippon is an astonishing 20 grams lighter. The XP is a high launch and I am assuming the Nippon is as well. KBS Tour definately intrigue me as they too are light (102 Grams) and are listed at mid-high launch.

Another question I have is, what about flighted shafts?

Maybe I should just go and pay for a LM Spec analysis.

Hopefully I'm not asking too many questions here. Marc

Thanks, I hit the PX 6.0 in these and love it. But, thought later maybe too stiff...???

PX6.0 is a whole different shaft than what the Modus is!

This shaft is a little firmer than the 1050 or 1150 but softer than the SP Orange. For people that are using the XP, SL s300, this is a good fit in that zone. Higher Launch, More Spin, Smooth Feel, but not for the heavy loader of a shaft.

That being said, I have not played the X. I am guessing from the profile of this shaft, it will still be a higher spin shaft, but tighten up the tip and dispersion a bit for those who need it.

I recently moved from the KBS Tours to the SP Orange and love the new shafts! But I load a shaft pretty good and I am a higher spin player already.

I play the Modus 3 in Stiff hardstepped. They are great feeling shafts, but I should have put X flex straight in. I hit the ball tad higher than I'd like and spins a little more too. I have just picked up PX Satins in 6.0, that I have spent few hours on LM, and the numbers are better, but the feel is not the same. Having said that I am not a true feel player. I give these a shot, although they are quite stiff I know I can load. If I need to change I would either go back to Modus 3 in X or SPB.
