The traveling dynamo

I was thinking about golf films this morning and Bagger Vance came to mind. It got me thinking about one thing the golf world is missing currently and that is Exhibition Tournaments with the Elite professional players. I've always thought it would be pretty sweet if once a month they had a primetime exhibition somewhere in the country. You could do it during the week, sometime between Monday and Wednesday so that it doesn't interfere with a PGA event for television purposes.

So getting to the pointe, if you were in charge of PR for such events, which foursomes would you put together and on what venues would you like to see them play? I'm interested to see what you guys think for both national tracks and if you have any local tracks in your area you would like to see something at. I'll get the ball rolling here:

I see that you already knew that Natalie Gulbis would be playing in the group I was scoring. Along with Nikki Garret, Michelle Wie and Belinda Kerr.

Now I feel bad that the OP posed a pretty interesting question and only got smart arsed answers so far...

So, I'll say this. I've always wanted to see a PGA Pro, and LPGA pro, a Senior Tour pro and low cap celebrity (Tony Romo, Adrian Young, MJ maybe Alice Cooper... etc) tee it up together. Just to see the way they approach the game and work the course.

So let's say... Zach Johnson, Paula Creamer, Fred Couples and Adrian Young at TPC Scottsdale (one of my favorite tourneys to watch).

I wasn't trying to be "smart arsed" as you say. I'm being pretty serious. I've seen the men play many times at East Lake at the Tour Championship. I've seen and played with DP Tour and Nationwide Tour players. So what is "smart arsed" about wanting to follow my four favorite LPGA players around a course. To add to the original post, I'd like to see them at Augusta National or East Lake. I pick those two courses b/c I've been around them many times and know how some of the PGA guys play the course. Watching the ladies play the course would be interesting (if not down right enjoyable b/c I think all four I picked are beautiful).

I think they could do well pairing a touring pro with some of the better pro athletes in other sports -- guys like John Smoltz and the like. You could stick in an entertainment celeb and a local pro or amateur through some sort of charity drawing. They could easily do 7 or 8 of these a year on each tour, and that wouldn't put too much pressure on the touring pros since it would be voluntary. Maybe you wouldn't be able to land some of the big names, who might hold out for too much money, but if you made it an alternative to the pro-am, I'm sure you'd get enough names to volunteer. Maybe have some sort of handicap limit on the regular joes, since you wouldn't want to watch a guy shoot 138. Most of the bigger TV markets with tournaments on one tour or another have a sports celeb (active or retired) who's in the low single digits, and there's always a local news anchor or somebody who would be available. Trump's show with the celebs made for pretty good TV by getting pretty good players out there.
