That explains why everytime I play golf I have this Korean couple following me and my bank account is zero.

Oh yeah, the winner of hacker long drive today was Joey.....................NOT!!!!!!!

Sorry Joey hacker long drive rule number 2-358-894-12 states that a Japanese brand driver is not allowed in hacker long drive unless you are 5'5" and under. But you did win the First hacker Ping putter long toss.

 :yess: Thank you for that rules clarification and the explanation of that couple that's always following our group!

Bobby, I could never figure out why they were following you around and why the guy kept yelling at you in Korean! That also explains who the tall haole guy with the funny hat was too and why he kept asking you to use his swing trainer! Click! Click!

Reid, lucky for you your driver is Chinese! :D

Congratulations Joey! :pardon: That was an awesome toss! ;) Although I think Reid and I may be able to take you next time. ;) Let's not forget that Bobby is crazy long, he may be able to carry the bunker on #9 with it! :)

Anyone going to join me at the Ping Demo day Wednesday? Barring a work emergency I should be there right around 4. I hate traffic so I'm leaving work early if I'm going at all.

I would but instead I stopped by Mililani today and picked up a demo club. :)

I just had to share this pic I took today. It had to be the biggest chicken musubi I've ever seen. I swear it was at least four scoop of rice with a whole chicken breast on it. Just look at it compared the the owners rather large hand. :)

I won't name the person who engorged himself with it. I'll let him take the 5th on it....unless he wants to out himself. I must say I was impressed that he put it all away. It did take him a few times closing it up and then starting again to get it all down though. :black eye:

Judging from the picture, that looks like #14 at Ala Wai. But I could be wrong! :) I believe I saw that shirt earlier in the day at Par 72! That is one big musubi! And the thing with the rice, chicken and nori on it was pretty big too! :black eye:

Howzit!

Kinda new to this site...I play mostly at military courses but I was wondering if any of you have ever played at Oahu Country Club?

Yep. Kinda short, kinda narrow, kinda hilly, and sometimes windy. That about sums it up. It tends to be in pretty good condition most of the time too. Not sure what other info you were looking for.

Thanks. We were just talking about courses at work and OCC popped up so I was curious as to what that course was like.

In my opinion after playing pretty much every course on Oahu public and private, OCC is the most beautiful course on Oahu. As Tony said, short but I think it's the longest short course you'll find considering the elevation changes. Probably the only course where you can rip the drive of your life but find it only 200 yards long because you're hitting straight uphill. I've seen many people say they're a single digit and shoot rounds in the 90's at their first visit to OCC. Heck, I've seen them do that on their second and third round too! ;) If you like a flat lie you'll never find it anywhere on the course except for the tee box. The greens are always well manicured and play at a very good speed and due to the constant night rain in Nuuanu Valley, the fairways are always luscious and green.

I'm also probably a bit biased as well since some of my most memorable rounds of golf in my lifetime were spent playing with my Dad there.

Totally Off Topic but this is wala'au room....I don't think it will affect many in the Hawaii room since most of us go to Carl for the TBC treatment but KHON and KGMB news reported local club maker Alan Ching was arrested for Child Pornography. Of course he's innocent till proven guilty but when the Feds arrest you....you're not too innocent.

C'mon some people like shafts cut crooked or to the wrong length. :shok:

By the way...Congratulations to Carl. Two youngsters who finished 1st in the ILH Boys and Girls Championships are his customers. I noticed many other top finishers up there as well.

Ok, I haven't been around much lately and now realized I missed out on a lot of golf ho'ing. But I have a good reason.

My new pride & joy, Sachi. She is a just turned 3 months old, Shiba Inu puppy. I have been ho'ing much puppy stuff and even joined a dog forum so I could learn how to train her. Once she gets all her shots we'll go to puppy classes and things as well. I know we can go earlier but I'm paranoid. She's been a handful the last 2 weeks, but thank god she's finally potty trained fully. I haven't even touched a golf club the last 2 and a half weeks, I'm glad I get to play this weekend . Finally.

Nice Shiba Rick. Sorry..but I have a lot of horror stories about them that I can share with you though! LOL I've never owned one but did consider them for a bit and know a few breeders and handlers of them.

Let me know if you need any help getting in touch with some good obedience schools. The boy in my avatar went through three years of obedience and three years of conformation schools. My girl did 1 in both obedience and conformation. You could say I learned enough through those years to teach as well.

Shiba's definitely need a firmer hand. They are small and cute but at times can be aggressive towards small kids, adults, and dogs. I always think that in the evolution chain, they are a lot closer to the foxes then many other breeds. One actually did bite my boy on the nose in obedience school. Luckily he's a lot more loving then he looks.

great looking dog! makes me want another puppy, but then again my two is more than we can handle. good luck with the training, and I would wait until she gets her shots as well, I hate hearing stories of puppies getting parvo.

Definitely don't want her getting parvo. That's some evil stuff. Make sure she gets all the shots before taking her on walks where other dogs frequent. Stay out of the bark parks till she's older as well.

Also..the good obedience schools require current health records of all the dogs. This is particularly important especially for show dogs. You don't want to be spending 3k on a show dog to have it get sick in school. Oh..and stay away from Sirius puppy training. I hate their ideas on training.

I'm all for hearing advice on obedience schools. One that got my attention was Pro-Dog Hawaii, but only because of the clicker training thing. I bought into it and it's been pretty amazing. It taught Sachi how to do a high five in 2 minutes. In the apartment she listens to commands real well. It's only on her "potty" walks where things sometimes get haywire because she gets so distracted.

I read all the horror stories too, but the temperment is different with Sachi. She is much more friendly, but overexcited when meeting most people. She did bark at a couple people, but I would've barked at them too, they're shady. There's another shiba in the building and no aggression yet, just a lot of play. She does play very rough, and bite inhibition has been toned down only slightly.

I can go on and on. I never understood why people got so attached to dogs until we got her.

But yeah, Reid, let me know some schools you recommend. I especially would like to check out puppy classes.

Thanks Joey. The G10 is working out well. It is every bit as forgiving as I need it to be. Played yesterday and only missed 2 fairways with it at Ala Wai and one doesn't count because it was #13 and it just didn't cut enough and went through the fairway. I need to get on a course with fairways that aren't as hard as pavement to see what distance is really like. But I'm getting a crap load of distance for me. On #3 I only had 150 left to the middle on my second shot. I've never hit it that far before on that hole.

The shaft is very nice as well, good pick on flex and tipping. No balloon balls into the wind at all.
