I'm not an expert but pose a rather interesting question, why wouldn't those crazy expensive clubs be anything but forged? I'm totally interested for anyone to chime in whether they are or not. Or for that matter if they are all forged.

**found something on the internet, the article dated back to 2005 and said all the irons were cast. So what year were these clubs made? Don't know how reliable this writer is but here's the link. The Japanese Honma website translates as saying they are made of "soft iron" triple plated. I think they are forged. Either way they aren't worth much so I wouldn't worry go for it.

Also here are the angles from the web site.

Many many thanks for the trouble you went to I really appreciate info and data.
My gamers are hogan apex edge but for some reason I feel more comfortable looking down at the Honmas and find them easier to hit down on the ball and take a clean divot. Again thanks

Honma are mostly cast, but the material are very soft like 8620 and you can bend them too. i had bent my LB 708 new H&F about 2 degree upright as most Honma clubs are made for asians and usually around 2dg flatter than us spec. No worry about bending it, but not more than 3dg i think. for loft, it is mostly strong loft so you need to be more careful in bending the loft weaker as the head design is to compensate for longer distance and easier sweep with the stronger loft.

thanks for the info I might just leave them be and enjoy them. The only other L H set I have seen were a pristine set on eBay for $1850 US

Some of the Honmas look outstanding, while others look gaudy, weird and sometimes outright perverse.
Aren't they like an integrated club, meaning they design proprietary shafts specifically for their clubs?
That's what makes their clubs appeal to seniors. Soft, high launchers that cost a fortune. JP could be mistaken too!

I think your exactly right but it seems they still make players some clubs as well. Eg. LPGA 2011 US open winner uses them as well as some of the top Asian players but I they will ever again be in same class as Miura or Mizuno. Btw Mizuno also cater to the wealthy Asian market with their majestic range.
Pity they now have an 'an old mans club' reputation considering they we're highly rated and the likes of Trevino used them ( woods ) back in the mid 1980s
