PGA Tour Vans

Anyway to get in?

Does anybody know how to get inside these Taylor Made, Ping, etc., tour vans at PGA Tour events? Is it even possible? Thanks for any help.

If you can get to them, generally they'll let you take a peek inside.

I an 16 and volunteered last year's US Open. It was Monday so I didn't really know my way around Congressional yet. While trying to get to the standard bearer's trailer for my assignment, I took a wrong turn and ended up in the player's parking lot! Boy, was that an experience. First, let me say that there was absolutely NO SECURITY keeping me from walking right into the players lot. Once I realized where I was, I looked and there were pros left and right. Jeff Overton getting out of his courtesy car, Steve WIlliams carrying adam's bag into the clubhouse, and Ernie Els were all spotted in about 30 seconds. If I had the guts, I could have chatted it up with them, but I was afraid that I might get kicked out.

Regarding the tour vans, they were all right there and I knocked on the Callaway van and the guy inside was very nice and willing to show me around, I'm sure people from the other vans would do the same.

Most people get in through the door...
All kidding aside I have heard that a lot of them will let people peek around. I volunteered at the Senior players at Westchester and I was able to talk to lots of players (chatted in the van back out to the course with Kenny Perry and spent lots of time with Michael Allen and Tom Kite who is like the most incredible guy ever by the way) and could easily get to the trucks and stuff. Especially if you have a volunteer badge, seems they'll let you in anywhere. let me into the clubhouse buffet for Westchester Country Club members only (which I'm not with all the players just because I flashed my badge that qualified me for nothing other that not having to pay parking. In the worst case just say you got lost and ended up by the tour vans if security stops you and if a van denies you just say ok sorry to bother you and mumble how you're gonna go checkout another competitor on the way out. I would do this on like monday maybe when fewer people will be there.
