OK, so I finally got my Birthday present today

First off, it looks fantastic. Sort of like a throw rug on the bottom and the premium chipping mat is like a range mat but a little more fluffy so I think it's more realistic - like hitting off of a fairway rather than grassy hardpan (typical range mats remind me of that). The speed is slower than the fastest greens I've ever putted on, the same as I usually putt on, and quicker than the muni and el cheapo course I play on. A great medium fast speed. I was able to get a few chips to check on it but being over concrete, it tends to bounce a little bit. I think some of the flooring foam would help with that. The putting length is great, and I don't really think I would want/need anything bigger. I haven't tried the break snakes yet, but I'll probably try that this weekend as it's supposed to be a downpour till Monday. Here's a few pics I snapped but it was pretty dark in my garage for pictures.

That looks great. I've seen some people build it up with the foam underneath like you are talking about. Thatdoes fix the problems of bouncing they said. By the way...that's a big garage. LOL

Yeah, I agree with Chris, the Big Moss is nice, but who's going to notice it with a garage / shop like that in the background. :) :)

Out of curiosity did you go the ebay route with that? total cost if you'll let me pry...I need to do something like this.

Yes, I went the ebay route. $220 shipped, I think and I asked if I did the BIN if they would throw in the premium chipping mat - they said OK. Dunno if they would do that or not.

TIP - someone I know from another golf board over in Hawaii told me to vacuum it in the direction of the putts to make it quicker - I tried it tonight and the thing really did speed up noticeably. Also, I'm getting better at chipping to it - I actually seem to get closer to the hole and keeping my putts on the mat better with a wedge than a putter... hmmmmm.

Can you rig a ball return in the holes?

I'm sure you could - or just place one straight down the middle as there's no hole right down the middle. This thing is a GREAT way to practice - I wish I had bought one much sooner. The speed is just about perfect unless you actually are luck enough to play on true PGA greens... not likely since they don't let the course water the greens while they are there and they use this pin system that waters just the roots. Some courses have actually had problems with their greens after the tour came through due to under watering.

Excellent! Thanks for the review. I just put in my order today for the big jobber (6 x 15 ft.) It's going to fill an entire room in my basement with just enough room to chip as well. Can't wait.

I'm not sure if they are a sponsor here, "In the Hole Golf" is who I ordered from. It's gonna be a long winter, so I'm sure I'll be putting every night for the next 5 months. It will be money well spent.
