I was at my GS yesterday and tried a bunch of irons, with all comparisons to something I was familiar with, the Diablo Forged. While still nothing really beat the feeling of the DF's (of course I didn't expect that - I just was familiar with that club having owned it a couple times) the Razr X Black were the next best thing I tried, compared against Mizuno JPX 800 & 800 HD, Adams V3 forged, even the A12 Pro. I was fully expecting the A12 Pro to have the best feel against the DF but I just wasn't feeling those yesterday (hit them previously and liked them).

So the Razr X Black were my "winner" against 4 other different sets - including some forged offerings. The only drawback of course is the Uniflex shaft. I really wish Callaway would pick a standard and go with it - don't care if it's DG, NS, KBS, Proj X - just pick something!!

I'd still consider the "feel" of my Razr Tours w/ KBS better, but on well struck shots the X Black did have good feel for a uniflex. With a real shaft, they'd have great feel I believe.

Thanks, I got to hit an x black indoors with a PX flighted shaft into a net, hard to tell much from that, but it felt surprisingly good/soft. [left]

Sorry to raise this thread from the dead, but I was hoping to ask if anyone has any followup opinions on these irons after having used them for several months (or at least as of the last post on this thread). I'm thinking about getting a set of these and keep going back and forth between this and the Razr X Tours, which I only like more because of the reduced offset. Whichever option I go with, I plan on slapping on some Project X 5.5 shafts. Any replies appreciated. Thanks!
