gave the GM2 Exchange a good test run

I have the GM2 Exchange #4 with me. I spent the day at home going over the contractor in converting my golf club storage room into a poker room. In between checking on him and being online I putted with my new putters.

The putter looks really good. The mill marks are as deep/sharp as any I have seen.

Feel is not so good. I haven't checked if the GM2 is carbon steel or stainless steel, but on feel alone I would say stainless steel. I thought maybe it was the ball at first. I was using the hardish TS X*01H. I changed to a softer ball. Still did not feel as sweet as most of my other gamers.

Interesting on the headweighting concept. I tried it from the lightest to the heaviest. 350 felt best for me. I tried another thing messing with the weighting making it heel or toe heavy. It did not affect performance for me (my putting mat is only 8feet so can't tell on longer putts). It did not seem to affect toe hang either. If it did it was negligible, maybe 5 degrees at most.

OT. I tried my new Hoganardi center shaft as well. I was surprised that it is not face balanced. There is a tiny bit of hang. It just seems to light and upright for me.

Is there anyway for me to increase attachment file size? I only have 35k available. I've reduced the pic maybe 4xs already. Should I take out some of my old WITB pics. Will that help?

you most likely have exceeded the 20mb attachment limit, check in the "manage attachments" section.

You may be able to put the images on Photobucket and then put the IMG text in you post. The image should appear, but i haven't tried it on these forums.

I cleared out all my attachments. It was time to do a new WITB anyhows. At least that's something to do this weekend.

And if it is anything like the old NC Alpha putters, that middle section is basically justcarbon fiber. Found that out last night when I was trying to bake a new finish on one. The middle just disenttgrated. LOL

I putted with one at Golf Galaxy the last time I was there and I have to agree that the face is very hard feeling on contact with the ball and I prefer a more softer feel.

It's an exact copy of a Mill Softtail.....wow. Buy a Mills, it's nicer anyway.

If you like the idea of a changable weight blade style putter, check out the MacGregor Bobby Grace M series. You can probably get a good deal on them since they have been out so long. I know gppgolf.com had them fairly recently, so you could check with them. I have the M1 with the weight kit and it's a really nice stick. The brass/bronze face is soft without being mushy. A little "square" in it's look from address, but it kinda grew on me. With the heaviest weights, I think the head is like 375 grams, so you can really feel the head throughout the stroke. :crazy: ;)

Definitely different material as the disintegrating one. I had one of those myself. I remembered they felt soft yet were also a bit hot off the face. I liked those on really slow greens. But looked like crap after a couple dozen rounds. If you like stainless steel feel, I don't think the Exchamge will be that much of a difference in feel.
