Golf & GPS: Not Always a Good Mix

Hey Members, next time you might want to leave your GPS at home!

In what surely must go down as one of the most unbelievably bad excuses of all time, a woman whose car ended up stuck in a sand trap on a golf course in Northbridge, Massachusetts claims that her GPS led her astray and that she was not driving drunk. The 46-year-old woman, Patricia Malone was arrested on several counts, and driving under the influence was indeed among them.

 

Despite her claims of innocence, a Burger King cup filled with alcohol was found in Malone’s Buick, and Malone failed a field sobriety test. She later admitted to police that she drank a half-liter of vodka earlier that morning. That’s right, that morning.

 

Malone claims that her GPS was behind her driving onto the golf course at a speed of 45 mph. Northbridge Police Officer Randy Lloyd told the Telegram and Gazette that “Ms. Malone stated her GPS had told her to turn left. She stated that this left brought her into a ‘cornfield’ and once she was in the ‘cornfield’ she kept driving trying to get out of her ‘cornfield.’”

Lloyd also said “Ms. Malone stated that she did not even like golf.”

The woman driving, was a friend's ex girlfriend. There's obviously more to the story, than a funky GPS ! She's a bit on the whacky side, if you didn't suspect!

Waaaay off her meds! I'm not sure what the story said, but the true story is ... she showed up at his house, he's got an order against her and called the police. She took off & they were chasing her ... until she took a wrong turn. She thought she could lose them on the golf course.
