Putter Lounge Tuxedo vs Slighter Black Thunder

I have a Bettinardi SS 5 that needs a new finish. My question is, for just finish work, is there a big difference between these two or are they the same? I have heard good things about both companies, just not sure if Slighter's Black Thunder is worth the extra money. The putter is in overall very good condition so not to worried about needing dings fixed and what not. Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Big Difference in finish. Big Difference in who does the work. Tom would get my work well before I would even consider the alternative.
Which is better for you? That all depends on what you are looking to get.

I ask because from what I can tell they are both black polymer coatings. I can't find a ton of detail on the slighter finish. Can anyone go into detail on how the black thunder is different than the tuxedo?

Have you asked Tom about his black finish? About durability and wear resistance? Worth an email to both companies and get their direct feedback. Tom is very fast on email replies, usually and I would expect that PutterLounge has the same ability.
They MAY be the same finish, I cannot say with certainty.

I have a Cameron Newport 2 done in Slighter's black finish. Have gamed it about 10 times so far and the finish is holding up really well. Can't speak to putter lounge but you won't be disappointed if you go Slighter

I am on the verge of sending a putter into Slighter. He has been great to work with so far. I am curious if anyone has heavily gamed one? albeit I don't mind sending things to the spa if it lasts a few years.

I have not had either of them do the work. i've contacted tom for some work and he was the nicest gentleman you've ever met. turned out i sent hte putter back to the person who made it--byron morgan. you might consider doing that with your betti.

i believe PL's tuxedo is a polymer coat, no? if so, forget about having them do it (actually, it's BOS that actually does the work, but that's neither here nor there)--send it to the guy who pioneered polymer coating and STILL does it better than anyone, lamont mann. i don't believe slighter's finish is a polymer coat, but not sure. you wont be disappointed with slighter or lamont, that's for sure.
