What is an SC "Studio Design"?

I've been playing with a Studio Design 1.5 since the year it came out - its my gamer. Have never had a putter so suited to my stroke. The balance, the feel, the sound, is simply perfect.

Only (very slight) thing I could say against it is that the black pearl finish can get slightly reflective if the sun is at just the right angle ... but this happens very rarely. On the upside - though it doesn't affect perfrmance - the finish is really beautiful ... the putter is a work of art. And it has held up very well. I just wipe it down with mineral oil every now and then.

When you say "finish is really beautifull, but it doesn't affect performance", I have to disagree, when i'm stuck behind the ball, ready to putt, if "i'm in love" with my putter, the putt is almost cupped ! If you give me a putter wich I find uggly at address, I won't be able to make any putt with it...

Studio Design is for me one of the better putter scotty ever made... (my gamer is a studio 1.0)

Does anyone want to suggest a value for a new one w/o headcover?

I got a new one not too long ago for about $230. Sold it though as the headweight was a little light for my taste. Still, the carbon steel felt nice. If you like that shape with the sloped-toe section but prefer a heavier head, check out the TP Mills softtail. The hosel design is different and there's more toe hang on the Mills. The finish is not as reflective as the Scotty because it's beadblasted. Both are great putters.

I purchased a mint, never on the course Studio Design 3.5 and received it one week ago. It is a work of art. The perfect putter for me.

I had purchased a Custom Shop Studio Stainless 1.5 Beach to use as my gamer for next season but once the Studio Design showed up all that changed. It does feel a little lighter as far as headweight is concerned but I like lighter putters so that was perfect for me.
