Eastern Long Island Private Golf Clubs

Was just curious to see how many of you guys have played any courses out on Eastern Long Island, and give a little l review of each course.

 

The Bridge - Very exclusive invite only club designed by Rees Jones. I played it in late september. Greens were air rated but still rolling true. If you miss the fairway good luck. Everywhere you look is amazing views. Hands down the hardest track I've played. If anyone in the New York area has a chance to play this course, do it. I know they have a couple tournaments a year. Well worth the money, but I highly recommend a caddy. The elevation changes and walk will kill you

 

Atlantic - Another great track that was designed by Rees Jones. My buddies father is the super, so I was able to get out the 1st day it was closed for the season. This is the closet to links style that I've ever played. If you miss the fairway by a yard, it makes your next shot nearly impossible to advance it with more than a 8 iron. Fairways are lined with tall grass and high fescue. Just finding balls off the fairway can be an issue. Not the longest, think it was around 6900 yards. Overall great day out on the course

 

 

Hopefully I'll add to this list this season. Working on National Golf Links of America, and have Shinnecock lined up for October
