Circa Resurrection

So I acquired this circa 62 no.2 for a small sum. I have done several successful refinishing and custom jobs, but this one was a little over the top in terms of condition, but that wont stop me.

 

How I received it, PO must have had a pet beaver.

 

 

After I sanded and ground out the imperfections.

 

My original plan was to bead blast, paint fill, and call it a day. But the bead blast gave it such a perfect surface for a nice blueing.

 

some of the pics I took came out blurry, so I didn't get the face shot after blasting.

 

I still need to do the paintfill, Probably go with the factory coloring, but it came out great.

Going to top it off with a fresh yellow midsize iomic, hitting the course tomorrow.

Nice job, good club to refurb are the circa 62's.

You could translucent black paint fill, murder it out.

The issue is having access to bead blasting equipment. It might only a few minutes, IF you can get at a machine (guessing).

Bead blasting is easy.
I sand blast if club is badly rusted etc then bead to get nice finish ie satin look after all modifications are done.
Takes minutes.

Providing you have a compressor a shot blast cabinet and various media cost in uk around £130. Prob much cheaper in US.

Like said, the bead blasting is really easy. Took the better part of 5min to complete. I used 80 grit glass media.

What did you use to sand it down? I have a Coronado coming that's in similar condition.

I started with 220 grit paper and worked up to 800 grit.
