Deal or No Deal: Average Price Per Hole

Hey guys, so I was talking with some people and came to the realization that if you break a round down to price-per-hole (with or without cart), it puts a whole new spin on whether it's truly a "deal" or not, especially when compared to similar courses that are cheaper, or of higher quality at the similar rates. Quite simply, put. I bet if someone stood at the tee box and charged you $3.00, $4.00, or more, like a cover, you'd look at it differently!

 

Obviously, all courses are NOT equal and higher rates can be justified, so this is incredibly subjective, but those courses and fantasy destinations excluded, using the average green fees of the top places you play the most...

 

What do you consider a "deal" and where do you draw the line before you feel like you're not getting enough value for your money?

 

For me, any more than $2.50/hole in the Pacific Northwest for a public course is pushing what I consider a deal and I really try to stay around $1.50 - $1.80. That's just me, and thanks to sites like GN, it makes it a lot easier to golf more for less and see some of the real bottom lines for golf courses...but it wasn't always that way and in many areas you're forced to pay more just due to location, so everyone's answer can be different here.
