Cobra XX-Speed

What your point about Ogilvy winning with an X-Speed over an XX?

These drivers don't fit you because your a good player, they fit you based on swing characteristics.

A guy can have a 120 mph swing speed and play the XX and be a scratch golfer, or he can have a 95 mph swing speed play the X and be a scratch golfer...

You are not a "better" golfer because you play the X over the XX or vice versa...if your truly good you should be able to hit any newish driver and have somewhat success...obviously others will preform better but your not going to experience more than 20 yards of distance loss/gain with any of the top drivers if you are a good player (2 hc and under).

Montrove just to clarify...you are 14 right?

If your using what you use now, your going to be one hell of a long ball hitter and damn damn good player.

Keep it up kid, good head on your shoulders and very knowledgeable.

I'll be thanking you kindly good sir for your compliments.

And yes, you are correct, I am 14

XX is open, thats why I want XX and it felt better than X.

what is the price difference if any?

The Cobra Speed series all have the same current going rate at TGW of $269.00, though the local golf mart tried to tell me otherwise.

Only Really long players and Long drive guys use the XX-Speed

This is not entirely true. I am not any where near a long driver, but I am fairly long. You really cannot compare long drivers using these to players on the course using these. The long drive guys use 49.5 " XXX and XXXX shafts.

Just a little thing Geoff Ogilvy at the 2006 US Open won with an

X-Speed Not an XX-Speed and guess what I think he can beat everyone on this site.

You are also neglecting to mention the fact the he is playing a non-retail X speed with a heavy weight X shaft. He didn't just pull a retail X Speed off the shelf and said he liked it better than a retail XX Speed. Maybe Ogilvy is fighting a fade and the needs the 1* closed face, or maybe it is sqaure or even open, making it the exact same thing as an XX Speed.

No offence but you dont have the requirements to really get the best out of an XX-Speed when you barley fit the requirements for an X-Speed

No offence to you, but you are the wrong one here. Cobra's Speed Series and HS9 Series Requirements are all based on how you will perform with the stock shaft. If you think about it, to use the stock Vista Tour 65-S in it, an F-Speed user could effectively weild it. Since JuniorFinn will most likely reshaft it, he can use any head he wants. Due to the fact that he is fighting a draw, not a light fade(X Speed), Fade(F Speed), or a Slice(M Speed). I swing on average about 127 MPH. Based on the concept I have just mentioned, if you put my Blueboard in an F Speed, it would work just as well for me as putting in in an M Speed or an XX Speed. So really what Cobra's system is based on is Stock shafts, not heads.

Again, MatucH you come up with a brilliant answer worthy of my quoting, I couldn't agree with you more.

Hey Montrove, hows the SQ as a fairway with the stock Diamana?

like ball flight, spin etc?

just picked one up for $48 on ebay and was wondering if a shaft change is necessary?

Reshaft it as soon as you can, I really only have it in my bag because like you, i got it for a steal of a price. My dad and I share his R7 TP fairways on the course.

As for ball flight and spin, it has an extremely high launch for me. It picks it up and throws its down to the ground with minimal roll.

If you have a fast swing speed, or you are looking for a tad bit of workability, you will definately need a reshaft. As you can see by my signature, I will be reshafting it at the start of the New Year.

This may sound funny but I always liked Grafalloy Blue Shaft :fool: Could it work with XX-Speed?

By the way, I measured my MPH today, it was 104-109 with driver. :)

If you are going to put a Graffalloy in it, put a CNT Prototype in it. The Stiff version is perfect for you, and at $79.99, you are not emptying your wallet.
