skycaddie sgx displaying exception notice

Well during the middle of the latest update thru skygolf, my skycaddie displayed a problem occured and that I must restart it or something like that. Now it just has the screen saying Exception notice: a problem has occurred a restart is required. Turn off and then turn back on. When the Home menu is displayed select resume. A problem log will be uploaded to our web site during your next sync.

 

The problem is when I do what this says, it just jumps back on this screen, no menu screen comes up

 

 

Please help me fix my skycaddie, I'm kind of ticked because this thing has worked great for me for nearly three years and they send an update that messes it up.

This is something that cannot be fixed by anyone on this forum. You need to contact Skygolf Customer Support to get this fixed.

I am constantly on the Skygolf forums and when exception notices occur, the support person on the forum has a support rep. call the person to help them. A few people are having issues with loading the current update. I would expect that they will try to diagnose and reload the update using methods not available to the us.

Just letting everyone know, I contacted skygolf and their support number and spoke to them about my skycaddie. They were extremely nice and advised that it was a problem with the update and they would replace my skycaddie free of any charge. They provided a tracking number and it's in the mail. They did put a one dollar charge on my card though so I'm going to have to figure out what that's about.

Overall, I would rate their support and service a+ at this time. That's as long as my new skycaddie comes as promised.

New skycaddie arrived as promised. They sent it in a prepaid return package so it didn't cost me anything to send the old one back. A+ service all the way with skycaddie. The charge was disappeared from my card as well without me having to even contact them.

Great to hear!! I bet that was a holder for the return of old unit.

I did the update and it wiped my device, i was lucky with a second sync and it was back to normal.

Just had the same experience, had a problem with the newest update went to online support and after two hours of the tech trying a number of things
told me to call customer support.
They are sending me a replacement with a return label to send back my unit at no charge.

That update was a piece of work for sure. I had problems with it twice but finally got it to work. But I hate the new graphics and menus. Can't read the screen now most of the time. Wish some way to get rid of update as it's major pain.

I can't believe the lack of quality control at sky caddie. Too many people have had issues with the update for this to be well tested like normal systems.

The temp charge on you card was to ensure that you sent in your old sky caddie

I had this problem also. Was excited that Skycaddie would send a new model to replace my malfunctioning one. But they aren't sending new ones, they are sending refurbished models. The refurbished one I got, has the same "exception" error and is now going back. Here I thought they were being real standup about a problem with their programming but I'm no longer impressed.

That's not good at all, the temp charge did go away, but I didn't realize they were sending refurbished one's. Mine is working fine so I'm not disappointed right now. I'll just think twice about updating it again being that's when mine went to the exception notice screen.
