Pulled Putts

I have pretty good touch for putting but I cannot stop pulling them. Right now I have Tri-ball SRT. The feel is good and I like the look of it. But it feels soo light and I'm not quite sure that I have the stroke for it. I have more of the "gate" type stroke (not straight back and straight through). And I'm thinking that the 3-ball is only for straight back straight through. It almost seems as if the putter tries to close the face when I putt. Any of you guys have some experience or comments about this? Thanks

When I start pulling my putts it is usually a result of playing the ball too far forward or my shoulders getting open at address.

Maybe you are hitting it in the heel (inside out stroke). It's often the problem, and gets worse when you mistakenly correct it by hitting out on the ball to avoid the pull.

ive tried that putter what i found is the lie angle was too much, couldnt get eyes over the ball untill i bent it upright a quit a bit. are your eyes over the ball? you might want to adjust lie angle.

1) Did this happen suddenly or 2) have you been pulling them since you got hte putter?

 

1) For me my friend told me on the 11th green yesterday I was completely moving my body, so I widened my stance as I would in the full swing to solve this but also played the ball a bit further forward because I had it too far back and the clubface was getting closed!

2) Blame the putter we all do it! :)

Make sure you are not standing too much over the ball. Your eyes should be directly over the ball. If you are over it too much this can cause a pull, the opposite is if you are standing too far away (push).

 

You may feel like you are centered over the ball. Make a make-shift plumb-bob with a string and a weight. drop it from the center of your eyes and see where the ball is relative to the weight.
