Bushnell 1600 pro vs Bushnell Tour Z6

I currently own a Bushnell 1600 which I am very happy with. My 1600 has no issues picking a flag with trees in the background. I love the 9 volt battery which lasts for a very long time.

 

With that said I have thought about getting something a bit smaller and lighter.

 

Has anyone used both the 1600 and Tour Z6? If so how do they compare?

I sold my 1600 for the Z6...like the compact size of the Z6 much better, and I couldn't stand the giant case for the 1600. The red display is cool, but not a reason to switch. I miss the 9V battery though. I switched purely for the size, and I'm glad that I did.

Are you brand loyal to Bushnell?

I just got a Leupold GX-3i for Christmas, and it is [color=#222222]phenomenal[/color]! Compact, bright red display, great optics, accurate to 1/10th of a yard, and FAST!

If you are willing to switch brands, this could give you the best of both worlds.

I bought the Z6 in the spring of 2012 and used it all season long. Took me a couple rounds to adjust to the compact size and steady my aim. Otherwise, I found it to be an awesome rangefinder. Very fast and very accurate. The red optics really stand out against any background. As for the battery, I needed a replacement near the end of August, but I was playing 3-4 times a week. The battery was about $10 as I recall. I can highly recommend the Z6.

Any more opinions? I am in the market and would love to hear thoughts of those who have used different models. I am most curious to know if it's worth the extra money to upgrade from the GX1 and V2 series.

I have the z6. Great design, water not a issue and its made of aluminum, so dropping it too many times is not a issue. When first got the button was a bit firm, but has softened up considerably.

I also switched from the 1600 to the Z6. I love it! I agree that at first the button was a bit tough to push, but it eased up pretty quickly. This rangefinder is EXTREMELY light and yet very durable. A few weeks ago, my push cart slid down a hill and hit a railing, causing my clubs and rangefinder to skid across cement. The Z6 was not harmed at all. I wasn't sure of it the first week or so but i am very happy i switched.

I have the tour z6 and I agree with everyone else.

The compact size is great and the display is great.

Is there much difference between z6 and gx3i. Doubt it. Amazon has z6 for 309$ so that's a steal. $80 plus extra for gx3i so go the z6

I like the Bushnell Pro M1. It is the only laser I've had that has 7x zoom, which is a big deal to me. I use a holder to keep it on my cart, and when I walk I just strap the case around my bag. If size isn't an issue for you, the Pro M1 is the best laser, IMO.
