PGA National Resort

My buddies and I have booked our stay at PGA National resort this spring / early summer. While we likely will play all 5 courses during our stay, I was hoping to get some insight into which courses are the best. I would assume that the Champion course would be 1 (though that could be wrong). Seems like 3 of the courses had some "redesign" done in 2012.

I'm there right now as I type and champions is far and beyond the best course. I think it's very similar to Kiawah Island where there is one great course, a bunch of good courses, and a thrown in joke or two. So far I'd say the Palmer is the worst course on the facility and for 240 greens fees it isn't even worth it.

Played the champion course for 3 rounds two weeks before the Honda..the kind of course that plays totally different depending on wind..not being a huge fan of fla golf the "Champ" is a solid track..only other course I played while at P.G.A. Was the "Fazio", just a good course that's it..

I've been there 3 times in the last 14 months. My GF and I really enjoy the resort.

The Champ course is the best course, but not the best value. I always go on an unlimited package, but the champ is $100 surcharge per player plus caddie fees. But I really love the course but never play more than once a trip.

The Fazio course just reopened, and were some of the best greens I have ever played. Fast and firm. The clear second best course on the property, and the best value.

I don't agree with the prior assessment that the Palmer is a bad golf course. It is firmly the third best course, and really enjoy it.

I wouldn't even consider any of the other courses. Sub par at best.

As you guessed the Champ is the best, no question about that. I'll also agree with the above poster that that Palmer was my least favorite of all the courses. I also really enjoyed the Squire when I was there, though it was a great course with a couple really interesting holes. I'd say the "fazio" was a good course, but didn't stand out in any real way, had a lot of fun playing it.
