High handicap needs help with golf swing...

Are you struggling with a pull/slice? Your backswing is not bad, apart from a straightening of the right knee, I would like to see that a little more bent, keeping you more stable, but the problem is at the transition, you start the downswing by spinning out , ie your hips and shoulders just rotate and route your club waaay over the top, try and get the feeling of starting the downswing with a LITTLE lateral hip motion which will help drop the club into the slot and will prevent the spinning out of the shoulders and hips. I think you swing may be too flat it looks like the club gets stuck sometimes and you have to go over the top to not hit it fat. Do you hit it fat a lot?

Yes. I hit it fat all the time. Its very frustrating. Its one of my biggest misses. Whats the cause?

Your flat swing plane forces 2 things. Either you come over the top and hit a big slice or the club gets trapped behind your body and you hit it fat or block shots. Thats what it looks like from the video at least.

Actually there is a third thing this causes. You also tend to stand up on your toes to aboid the fat shot. Google some fixes for it other then that it looks really good.

the good
Good setup. Lot's of straight lines, very simple swing with few moving parts. Very balanced for the most part. I LIke the hand and arm movement.

the bad
Backswing has slight reverse pivot, never get the weight tansfered or the lower body moving for the downswing. You seem out of position at the top, and then are jammed through impact and sort of swat it with your upper body.

the ugly
Looks like you are gaurding against a slice by trying to stay behind it. I'm guessing there is a serious lack of tust of something going on here. IMO it's better to swing freely and play the fade until you start getting the vibe to hit it straghter.
