Myrtle During Masters Week

GPoppaPump

Recommended Posts

My group is looking to go to Myrtle Beach during Masters Week and were curious as to how busy the area was during that time. We were going to leave our options open and use 48hourteetimes and Golfnow but wanted to know if the area is saturated with golf during that time or if there are plenty of open tee times during that time. Thanks!

I think you will have your normal golf traffic cause of spring golfers but before the summer vacationers start to arrive. I will not say it will be even busier cause of The Masters. I would book ahead with a packager or call the courses ahead of time to see what they are looking like.

What courses are you looking at?

It Depends on the size of your group but You'll be lucky to get a decent morning tee time and your rates on golfnow will be close to book rate. You will be way further ahead money, time and frustration wise to go through a packager and book ur TTs in advance.

I would say this year you are safe. Spring break for high schoolers in NY and Michigan are usually around that time and myrtle is packed when that happens. This year it's the first week of April.

I'm not even kidding with this. It's crazy down there when school spring break is going on from east coast states.

My course and our affiliates tee sheets are already filling in pretty quick for that week. A lot of guys like to make Myrtle a stop on the way to Augusta because it really isn't far off the path. I suggest first that if you are definitely coming down you should make your tee times now through a package company, and also that you try and be at the Barefoot resort in North Myrtle for the Monday after Masters Pro Am celebrity tourney. It is a great time and all the players really let loose for it.

Thanks all for advice. I'm going to start looking into packages. We were keeping all options open, including stopping at Pinehurst on way over from Charlotte, or even running down to HHI (not sure if you can get on Harvour Town that soon after tourney). Not te greatest plan in world but we were looking to golf Apr 8 and 9 in Myrtle 2 rounds a day. If we already have lodging they hotel points, does anyone have experience booking 4 rounds in 2 days and getting a discount?

running to HHI from MB is like a 4 hour drive. I would say book now and book the south strand. The south strand is wayyy less crowded and you have TPC, Caledonia, True Blue, pawleys plantation, Blackmoor, International Club etc. I never book with the packages since my family lives down there but i believe theres a website called primetime tee times or something.

The above's advice to stay on the South Strand of Myrtle (Murrells Inlet, Litchfield, Pawley's Island) is some great advice! I live in Murrells and it is much better than up in Myrtle or North Myrtle IMO. Check out http://www.ambassadorgolf.com for golf packages! They have solid deals. Honestly if you have any questions about Myrtle just PM me and I will do my best to help out!

Heading down a weekend early..I have practice round tickets for Monday April 8. This is my first trip to Augusta so I'm really excited for this trip. The days are dragging.

Were going down to Myrtle (actually Calabash) on Thursday April 4. Staying in a condo at Crows Creek. Playing Carolina National on Friday, Rivers Edge on Saturday and Crows Creek on Sunday morning before heading over to Columbia to spend the night there Sunday night.

Ready for a great trip with my son and two friends. Took me 11 years to finally get tickets to Augusta. Hoping for some great weather.
