Hi there.

 

I play Moffett regularly and just talked to the guys in the pro-shop and I can set something up for Thursday around 12:00 for 2-3 groups. Rates are $24 to walk and I think an additional $8-10 pp to ride.

 

If this is something everyone wants to do, I will need to get the names of everyone so we can have a list at the front gate to get on base. The pro-shop will tell them it's a tournament so there shouldnt be any problem.

 

Who knows, maybe I'll be able to talk Shannon into coming down.

 

Nice! Just mention the gambling and Shannon will be there - especially if the work poker is involved.

 

The only problem I'd have is the time. My conference is supposed to go until 12:00 - its in Santa Clara so I'll be close. I don't think I could say I'd be there safely before 1:00 because some of these have gone a little long in the past.

 

Maybe we should get an official head count before we have you reserve anything Joey.

The list will be updated here and the original post as people confirm. We can probably only give this a few days to be fair to KJ and the Moffet Shop. Lets try to get an official count by Monday. Like KJ said, the count is needed so your name can be at the front gate as its on a military base. Please PM me your full name once you've confirmed so your name can be placed on the list.

They start taking tee times one week in advance so we probably have until Tuesday PM/Wednesday AM to set the groups.

 

Let me know what time you would like the first group going off. If you have a conference ending at 12:00 maybe the first group can go off at 12:30ish. My only concern is the Foothill group that I believe still goes off on Thursdays. I'll try to verify if that is the case and what time they go off at.

 

There is also the option for Friday AM if enough people are interested.

Well, thanks to KJVieira we've got 3 times: 12:07 - 12:14 - 12:21. We've decided on a 20 dollar buy in skins game - no carry overs. We're just keeping it friendly. Of course if you need more to get your blood going, I'm sure you can find some side action.

 

The poker game still seems on the fence. Any input? Who's actually interested and who's not?

Again, we'd just keep it friendly. Maybe $20 buyin, with an optional rebuy, 2nd place gets his money back, 1st takes the rest of the pot. Pizza and drinks comes out of the total. Something like that. Just to keep it fun and interesting. As far as location, I could host in FC if no one closer wanted to.

Also I just want to remind everyone that the odds are good that they'll search your car so leave all the 'recreational' stuff at home. Also make sure your drivers license is valid.

Also, if you have to stop at the front gate to get a pass, please make sure and allow yourself an additional 15-20 minutes to get through the process. Once you are in the gate, it takes another 5-10 minutes to get to the course.
