How much has your hoing cost you in shipping?

Getting ready for tax season and was looking over receipts and I was shocked that in '06 alone, I had about 30+ USPS receipts. That's not counting sells where I charged for shipping. Conservatively at $15 per transaction that's about $450 in shipping alone for '06.

 

Thought it was pretty funny (sad) that I could have bought some nice clubs just from shipping from trades alone. Anyone, businesses excluded, have a higher total in '06?

I know I've bought at least 50+ golf items over the year, Probably closer to 75. LOL Keep in mind you are not paying state sales tax though in most cases (if your state has state sales tax, Mine is 6.5%) And you are not paying gas money. That could be another 5-6 bucks for me anyways. Come to think about it, shipping is cheaper than it costs me to buy it for the same price at the store!!! LOL

 

I wonder what Choeppner spent on shipping. LOL

I don't know about shipping but I put alot of miles and gas in my truck for my ho'ing since I have various golf shops in the state that I can go to.Im impatient so if I can get it now I will.

As for a number, a couple hundred. Probably $200-250 or so. I'm in Canada so for some reason it costs a sh*tload of money to ship, even within the province. Each time I sell something to someone in Canada, it's cost me at LEAST $20. And that's only when selling stuff. Buying stuff off ebay and junk and cost me a solid $100-150 or so. Grand total for '06 is around $200-250. Too much, but what are you gonna do about it. :drinks:

We think of it as a bargain compared to having to get into the car and take the stuff we want to sell to the person who wants it. Regardless of where they live.

Sorry to thread-jack, but Nick is Discount Dan's free shipping policy only valid for customers living in the US? Does it apply to those of us living north of the 49th parallel?

Oh and to answer the question of how much spent on shipping costs alone, I'm in the same ballpark as Ditty - around $200ish..

I live overseas , shippingcost for us are exstreme , we pay $30 for a wedge and $60 for a full ironset and a packet off Tee's is $6 . I just ordered a new bag and the shipping is $86 and then I have to pay tax of it ,

27,7% , dealers price + shipping , but still I can save a little comparing to Danish Shopsprices . :)

Yup us overseas guys might have bigger totals than most of the US guys despite having fewer purchases. Customs/duties are a lot extra too.

I won a set of Ping S58 irons before Christmas at 560$ (US): then've been shipped via UPS Expedited option (50$, no brokerage fee) but I still had to pay 90$ (CAN) more!!! Bought 10 ties from EBay (from Europe): 140$ CAN, 50$ duties!!!!!!

 

And I sold lot of stock recently via EBay, it cost me more sending within Canada than usual! And price changes depending with who you're dealing with!!! :superman:

 

I hate Canadian duty :superman:

 

But it still a lot cheaper than buying from Canada, and it's better when you can buy more from the same seller (combining shipping) :superman:

I guess I forgot about our oversea wrxers...shipping must add up quick. Some of the posts about taxes and international shipping is starting to make me feel better about my total for the past year.
