New to the forums (from Alaska)

Good evening, my names Jake and I'm stationed up here in Anchorage, Alaska. I played golf in High School then took a 4 year break while I worked, joined the Army and got married. I literally never once played in those years or even picked up a club. I just now have started playing again in the last 2 years and being up here in Alaska doesn't make it easy. The courses don't open until April/ May along with the driving ranges so trying to practice in the winter time (7 whole months) is almost impossible. I shot in the 70's in high school tournaments with my lowest round of even par 72. Recently though, my rounds have been in the low to mid 80's. Like I said though, I haven't played much in the last 2 years and didn't play at all for 4 years after high school. I have been slowly getting my swing back and making great improvement from my first round this year.

 

Looking forward to post up on the forums here, looks like a good bunch of people here.

Welcome to the forums! New here myself, looks like a great place to find anything golf related. How are the courses in Alaska? Seems like it'd be great in the summer though, not too hot.
