Where are they?

Hey guys, by reading the Midwest golf outing thread I can tell we have a lot of Chicago natives here, and I need some help.

Me and some of my friends are looking for some local tournaments to play in this summer. We all work so weekends are preferred. I have come across the NIMAGA organization and that looks ok, but wondering if there is anything else out there. We are all 23 years old.

We are all pretty good golfers (3 or less HDCP) and we don't want to pay to get sand-bagged in net events. We have also looked into the Illinois AM tourneys and that stuff, we are just looking for tourneys to make a little coin or gift certificates to keep the competitive juices flowing.

Have you check out the Golf Channel Amateur tour? Its $200 to join and then each tourney cost money. I have not played in it so I can not comment on if there is sand bagging and what not. There was a thread about it not to long ago on here, I am sure if you used the search button you could find it. NIMAGA is a very established organization. I played it one year. It definitely gives you a chance to play a lot of different courses. Check with my buddy Birdieboy52. When we were single we played a ton of weekend events. I mean we basically played in a tournament every weekend. He would probably remember a lot of the tournaments.

Balmoral CC in crete has the will county open. They have their own website.

 

Wedgewood cc had a great tournament in June. They are located in Plainfield/Joliet area

 

The Hammond times in Munster Indiana puts on a great tournament every year.

 

Pine Hills in Ottawa

 

Dwight CC in Dwight

 

The city of Chicago puts on two tournaments. Check Jackson Park cc and Sydney Marovitz cc.

 

There are more. Give Birdieboy52 a shout. He has a better memory than me.

Sweet, thanks for the info. I think I'm joining NIMAGA for sure, but they are only once a month. There is another set, the Weekly Challenge Tour, but pretty pricey to cpmpete for gift certificates. I'll definetly give BirdieBoy a PM. Thanks.
