What other finishes?

I have three Bronze Ansers and have cleaned up two of them where they look newer again. One of them I am willing to experiment with.

What finishes would work on maganese bronze?

Will it hold paint or other finishes ie: gun blue, oil can, etc.

That gun blue looks good on the bronze. Did you do anything out of the ordinary to get it to look like that.

Also, does it seem to be durable?

i imagine that it would be. since you dont really hit the ball hard it should last along time

I like the dark antiqued finish from the factory on my Anser 3. No glare and it is maintenance free.

I just got a Byron maganese bronze dale head and am thinking of putting that gun blue finish on it. I was wandering if you get a darker finish if keep blueing it a few times instead of once and leaving it. I like the black look but I also like the oil can look decisions!!

for best results. i would get a heat gun and heat it up just a little. not to much. then dipping in gun blue works better than trying to rub it on. then after you pull it out of the gun blue rub it pretty hard with a diaper cloth to get some different shades and tones. also you dont need to dip it for very long

I was on Casey Birchwoods website and found this product which says it works on Bronze.

It could be interesting as well.

I have been traveling a lot lately and have not gotten to my Anser project. I also have not found the Brass Black yet. I know it can be ordered online from Birchwood Casey. I tried Bass Pro and Dick's gun departments.

I ended up picking up some Gun Blue and think I will give that a try. I have an Anser 4 with factory Black Oxide already.

If I get the chance this weekend I will take pics before and after the Gun Blue.
