Used jdm drivers/fairways

Quick question to all the JDM wrxers, what are brands and models of older jdm drivers/fairways to look out for? I'm in japan and can find a lot of bargains in the used club section. I am fairly new to jdm clubs so any suggestions would be appreciated.

You will find dozens and dozens of older JDM woods in Japan. They were "Made in Japan", shafts and all.

I bought my first big shovel driver here in Canada, in March 2006; the Srixon W-506. I upgraded to the Z-Rw and the Z-Steel, maraging 3, 3+ & 5 fairway woods in 2008 (the FWs are still in my bag). I've been loyal to Srixon woods until they came out with the Z-Strar driver (made in China).

IMHO, all pre-made in China, JDM woods were of a superior quality, by far. You can't go wrong with any of them. Tour Stage (pre-Bridgestone, US) comes to mind.

if u find a jbeam 435 in a 10* with 1* open face... let me know how u would like to work it out ;-)

I have been looking for that jbeam for a while with no luck. I just bought an older onnoff fairway and this thing is amazing. Does anyone know what the most forgiving brand of JDM fairways that are also bombers? Thanks for your input guys.

Would it not be up to you and you alone to decide? I'm wondering if Japan wouldn't have more golf club brands than anywhere else on the planet.

I read, in a thread here, that there are two cities, IIRC, where you can find just about anything golf related...........Since you are in Japan...........?

Side note: Srixon makes the XXIO and Dunlop amongst other brands.

look for epon. the 202 is the best fairway would out there. jBEAM/crazy, prgr, Yamaha, onoff, romaro, the list goes on, they're all good. epon holds its value though b/c it's the best....

Epon is virtually invisible in Japan, so he won't find any. They're only popular in the west.
