need help deciding which set to keep as a backup

hey guys,

so I found myself in a situation that needs a resolution.

my main game set is a Mizuno MP62/MP68 combo set with px5.5 shafts (these are not going anywhere anytime soon)

but I have been playing around buying/selling a few sets over the last couple months trying to see if I could find one set that really stuck out that I liked to use for alternate set. was looking for something a bit less blade-like for the times when im not playing as often.

I have 2 sets right now that I am seriously considering. I would like to keep one of them only. whatever I choose they will be shafted with KBS tour stiff.

the 2 sets are....

bridgestone J36 (progressive slotback/cavityback/blade set)

scratch AR-1 (not sure of the sole grind, but the edge is slightly more angled than the j36 )

both sets are in fantastic condition, and for arguments sake we will call them both "like new".

my miss hits are fat.

I haven't been able to hit these off dirt yet because the courses are basically frozen, and im not going to completally trust a range mat,...so I would like to know if anyone could point me in the right direction if you have played one or preferably both of these.

thanks guys

Well brand names aside. I would personally take the set that I personally prefer and have confidence in that I could fall back to. I take it you have gamed both of those sets in the past. Go with your instincts.

Problem is that the shafts in the bridgestones were "irregular" at best. Looks like soneone reshafted them with their eyes closed.
Maybe I will build a 5 iron and 8 iron from each set and try out those clubs.
I'm leaning towards keeping the scratch clubs too. Mainly cuz if I had bridgestones, I'd want j40 cb's.
But that's why I'm asking for input. I'm not sure of either of these clubs performance.

Also. If I kept the scratch set. Its missing the pw. I've heard people say to get a 48* scratch wedge instead of a ar-1 wedge. Is that a good idea?

Keep the set that has the most forgivness.

Not knowing the grind on the Scratch's means it may or may not be good for your type of swing.

As a backup set when do you plan on playing them?

and... you would get a lot more responses if you'd put this somewhere else besides the JDM forum.

Ye. I should have posted elsewhere. Just thought the guys in here would have more knowledge on these, but they are more borderline japaneese halfbreeds than actual JDM.

I don't know which has more forgiveness. One isn't shafted, and the other I have not hit yet. I just was wondering if there was a cut and dry... "this set is definetly better" answer. So I wouldn't have to go through building a bunch of clubs and then tearing half of them down.
But I'm probably just going to do that

The scratches are shafted. Maybe ill build 2 j36's and take them to an open football field so I can hit off the dirt

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
