Embedding is a PITA. Best to do what you did here.

You are losing balance and falling forward into the shot, but you probably already know that? On the takeaway, your head drops straight down and you have to rise up out of the shot to keep from fatting it, which plays into the balance issue.

SLOW everything down and then pick up speed when your balance is perfect and contact is more solid.

Nothing wrong at your handicap but slowing it down will do wonders for you. JAT

So a lot of thought should be placed towards slowing everything down, maintaining a more efficient rhythm which in theory should assist with my balance and stability issues? I will give that a go next time i'm out practicing.

Oakleys20,

You have muscles and tendons in your body whose goal is you keep you from falling. These genetically built in balance mechanisms do NOT care that you desperately desire to propel that golf ball a long distance and where you intend it to land. This applies in every activity you perform. They will NOT allow you to fall, unless you consume too much alcohol and alter them.
When you lower your head and shoulder forward as you do then another part of your body is called into service to auto correct your torso so you will NOT fall. These muscles are VERY important when trying to hit a golf ball. Use them for that purpose, not working to maintain your balance.
Stand up erect and pretend you are holding a plate of cookies in the palm of your right hand. Now- that guy behind you wants a cookie. Keeping your feet in place just rotate that plate back there and serve him . The shoulders rotate LEVEL . Keep the HANDS close to the torso. The further away from the body the HANDS are the more our balance is in danger.
