How has the weather been lately in MB? Are there any courses in particular bad shape? Has it been a wet or dry Fall/Winter? Warm or cold?

Weather has been unseasonably warm this last few days. I'm outside in Pawleys Island today in shorts and a polo! It's supposed to rain in a couple hours though which is a bummer.

Unfortunately I don't really go all the way up to Myrtle or North Myrtle for golf much so as far as courses in bad condition right now I really don't know. Pawleys Plantation and River Club were both rough a couple weeks ago because they had overseeded and got a lot of rain. Other than that Caledonia and True Blue are both in great condition right now for sure. They don't overseed anything but the tee boxes.

I just got back from a week in MB. Shaftesbury Glen and the Glens group courses, Grande Dunes, Myrtlewood courses, were all in good shape, just a little wet. We had rain a couple nights while I was there and had cart path only at Shaftesbury the day we played. Greens were a little slower than I remember, but, likely due to the damp conditions. I drove by a lot of courses and all looked to be in good condition with overseeded fairways. Not many golfers out as it was a little chilly five of the seven days I was there.

played parkland at legends yesterday, tees and fairways not mowed. greens not the best maybe because of the cold nights lately. the best part was the free breakfast and lunch included with green fee. played off the white tees course played somewhat on the long side.

It's been up and down for a couple weeks. I think I had 28 degrees when I left for work Thursday. However I played yesterday and it was in the 50's. Next week I think is supposed to be alright as far as weather. I'll probably go out on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The weather in MB has been all over the place. Monday and Tuesday were in the mid 70's overcast and windy but it rained buckets in the middle of one round at the Wizard. Wednesday and Thursday had frost delays. Courses opened at 9:30 both days, got into the low 50's but felt warmer because no wind. My round at the Wizard felt like Scotland with 4 types of weather within a 3 hour span. There is no predicting weather in MB Dec through Feb. All six courses I played this week were very wet.

Thanks for the nice comment about the photo.

 

They closed the "International" 9. The "Open" and "Championship" are still open. The 2 par 3's based on Augusta and TPC Sawgrass #17 are fun, and #1 and #18 from The Old Course are too. It's not like the real holes particularly because the fairways are so soft and wet, but the greens at World Tour were amazingly fast and tough.
