Golo 5 review

Never been on the Scotty bandwagon

Seemed like lots of hype, Tiger phenomenon, and great marketing. Plus the one Scotty I had years ago was probably my least favourite and performing putter

Not to say they aren't good or of quality, but I thought Ping , Odyssey and others also turned out quality milled putters as well ....at a much better price

Plus there the "show off factor". How many players I've seen playing with the latest and greatest $300+(Now $400+) Cameron that wasn't close to helping them in any way and or ill fitted for their stoke.

My current Ping Milled 5, while custom fitted and ordered for me, was face balanced and had excellent feel and on top of that I've been putting very well lately....yet I came to realize a slight toe weighted putter would suit me best.

Then I came across the Golo and Golo 5

I liked the black version and it's more understated look

The deep milling and weighting was outstanding

But the rolls. The accuracy. The feel.

Found one used in great shape, changed the grip to a 5 wrap pistolero and off we went yesterday.

Couldn't be more impressed!

First hole dropped a 30 foot birdie

Saved from 15 feet on 2

Again on 3.

I realized that there's no manipulation at all with the slight toe hang. Aim and let it go

Very natural and as with any good club that really fits you it felt like it was made for me.

Confidence all day...that I'm sure will only grow as we get to know each other more and more.

A couple of long lag putts came up short but I'm sure it's a combo of a new putter and very slow greens today. Still had no 3 putts even though it was day one

All in all I'm very impressed and happy with my new Scottie Golo 5

The black model Scotty's are very good looking and I tried the GOLO but just could get use to the mallet.

The blacks are handsome and not as garish to me as the silver mist version (mind you the Golo isn't as bad as others)

I've been a blade player for a long time now but this mallet, being milled, just feels like a quality blade but higher moi
