I just bought a set of the 2007 edition of these and I'm really pleased with them.

The more I practice with them the better they perform (funny how that works).

I've always been a blade player, and these irons are a nice compromise as I

move into my late fifties. At first I took out the three iron, but it's back in the

bag for now. I realize Hogan is a dieing brand, but it still has a cult following in

the business. These irons should keep us Hoganites happy for a while.

In college I played the Apex blades, went through about 3 sets of irons, Taylormade MB irons, Taylormade TP irons, Callaway X forged irons, after playing at the Accura Team Championship at Pinehurst and see the 07 version of the Apex plus. I re-shafted them with x100 shafts, and WOW... My iron play has returned you can control the ball so well; up, down, left, right. I am a straight ball hitter and have been striking 5 iron about 205 yards, and 8 iron about 165 yards... The clubs are impressive, I recommend them to anyone looking for the blade look and blade performance... Great irons... Hogan golf is on a come back with sets like these...

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these and the Apex FTX irons? I've got the Apex FTX irons from 2005 and really like them, although I am looking hard at the new Titleist AP2s.

The apex plus is a little more like the longer irons in the FTX, although they're a little thicker. I've heard good things about the AP1's and AP2's...but the value for these, if you can find a good set are great. The Titleist's will feel like stone compared to the Hogan's, as they're the softest forgings ever (in my opinion)...not the best feeling, but a mushy soft.

Also, you should note, there is a good amount of offset in the Hogans....not really sure about the Titleist's, as I HATE titleist irons (shape bugs me).

I can attest to the soft feel of the Hogans. They are very soft and need to have their lie adjusted at least annually. My FTXs don't have much offset, although there is some. I've never hit a set of Titleist clubs, but I will check out the AP2 and ZB in addition to the Mizuno MP32 and MP67.

man i hit my buddys apex plus irons at the range the other day and all i could think was how ugly they looked, both in my hands and in the bag. When your staring down at them they look so fat and ugly. They dont have player style heads AT ALL.

My mizuno mp 62's make these look like fat GI irons.

I have had these clubs since 2002 or 2003 I believe and Im still playing them. I love these irons and I do not think they look ugly at all. They play wonderful and I doubt I will be changing anytime soon. I picked them up for $299 from a local golf store brand new still in the box. My irons dont have much offset as previously mentioned but I believe when I bought mine they had an option for offset or not. Even after 7 years of playing with these irons they are still performing very well.
