Bridgestone E6 soft vs Titleist Pro V1

I know these two aren't direct comparisons, they just happen to be the last two balls i've played.

Switched from the Pro V1 when the E6 soft came out, and have played that since (november, i believe).

I don't really get launch monitor testing so most of mine is done side by side on an empty golf course.

This is of course not the most accurate way, because not every swing is the same, but it should give me a rough idea.

After 3 months of the E6 and playing great golf with it, I was at TPC vegas yesterday with an empty course due to high winds and it being a tuesday.

The club actually gave me some Titleist Velocity balls to use... i think they are total rocks. they felt awful compared to the E6 and I left them in the cart for the cart boys, but while in the rocks picking up an errant velocity I happened to find a brand new Pro V1. Not an uncommon occurance on a nice course in this country.

So I decided to fire up the old test again, and heres what I saw:

(again extremely small sample size of 12 holes, but its all I have to go by)

Tee length was almost idential between them.

I had thought the bridgestone flew straighter (curved less), and launched higher previously, and i'd say that continued to hold true.

The titleist held better through the wind while I felt the bridgestone struggled there.

the titleist felt tighter around the greens, hard to explain, slightly more predictable spin (could be totally in my head)

But for the most part they were very similar except for ONE thing:

the bridgestones were a 3/4 to a full club longer in the irons and wedges. especially the short irons.

I would hit two shots from the fairway at almost exactly the same distance and time and again the titleist was front edge of the green or just short, and the bridgestone was back or off the back.

this wasn't a check up issue, although im sure that played some part, i mean the actual divots were 10 yards apart.

At first I thought it was me, but I kept testing it, and wound up convinced this is the case.

does this make any sense to anyone?

anyone had a similar or totally different experience?

think I should play one or the other or try a third ball?

I definitely need a larger sample size. will test it at some san diego courses this upcoming week.

The difference in iron length does not surprise me. A similar(ish) ball to the E6 is the Titleist NXT Tour and for me I always thought that was 1/2 a club longer on irons than the ProV1x I used to play. Thought the ProV1x was marginally longer on drives though.

Could just be lower spin, launch angle giving slightly better carry #s?
