Advice for whats in my 8/9yr old's bag please

My son is turning 9 in December 2019. He currently plays SCPGAJR JDT events. We havent been doing the US Kids event because they are a longer commute.

He has been doing well enough. He has some top 3 finishes which in those events are like 7 to 10 over. He isn't terribly long for his age and plays in 8-11yr div so winning an event is a ways off.

Age 8/9 Height 53"

Currently:

Cobra F8 Driver: Flynn shaft

Rogue 5w: Flynn shaft

Titleist mens hybrid 25deg: Flynn shaft.

6i, 9i, PW: US Kids UL51.

SW: US Kids TS351

Putter: Ping Anser cut down.

Should I wait until he is 54" or more to replace the USK UL irons? He hits them fine but I would assume they are too flexible although I don't notice it. Does he need every iron PW-6i? yes his yardage gaps are big from 6i to 9i but I figure it will force him to learn how to hit flighted shots and distance control.

Distances (total)

Driver: 135y to 160y: Usually 140. (so dependent on his flight, often w driver hits a slight pull fade cutting distance)

3W: 130y to 140y

25deg Hybrid. 125y

6i: 100-110y

9i: 90-95y

PW: 75-80y

SW: 65y

You can try the 54” TS3 set of irons. He’s got the club head speed for them if he’s hitting the ball that far with his driver. I would get them now to start getting used to them.

Not too long? He only 53" and they rated for 54" to 57" and in my experience they are too long early on in the range.

What are you trying to achieve? If you want something now, then get custom Flynn’s at 53”. If you can wait, then buy the TS3 54” and slowly start the transition process. Again, depending on your needs, you can choose to go for a full set of irons or skip every other one (5, 7, 9, SW). Just make sure you buy him the TS3 line instead of UL if you decide to go with US Kids.

Not long at all. Just have him choke up an inch. If you get him 51, he'll outgrow it next month
