Real or Fake Scotty California Monterey?

Hey everyone apologies if this is not the proper place to post this. My cousin has this old California Monterey he won at an outing and gave it to me. I’m thinking about getting it refurbished but don’t want to go through the hassle if it’s a fake. If you have any idea let me know!

Fake based on face milling and seagull location. On a real one the circle goes through the middle of the gull.

Man, I'm not trying to say anything about your cousin, but I'd say that any Scotty Cameron with a "won at an outing" story attached, there's a 99.9% likelihood it is fake. Like this one. Sorry.

Yeah good news and bad news with this one. The bad news that it is definitely fake, as @Jc0 pointed out the milling is wrong and the "setting sun" circle on the bottom is shifted to the right from where it should be (although I have seen this position change on legit ones). That circle also does not turn rust brown like that, although it does on the fakes I have seen. You can also tell from the low quality lumpiness of the surface (separate from the extensive wear) that it was likely cast from some sort of cheap pot metal.
The good news however, your cousin can reattach it to the back of his truck and continue dragging it down the highway without any concern over lost value. ?
