I am going to give this a go

Alright guys, this is my story. I have been working with wood now for the last 14 years. By trade I am a hardwood flooring contractor and in the past I have made some furniture and clocks etc. Well after being a member here for over a year now and seeing some of the nicest creations being made by some on this site, I have decided to hone my skills and make a putter. It is going to be made out of blood wood and have some brass on it. It will be a center shaft mallet design and have lots and lots of finish on it. I have already started the process 3 days ago and should have it done by tomorrow afternoon. Anyway, this will be my first and hopefully not my last. Everything is going pretty good so far and I have managed to get the weight up to 320 grams. Pics will be up tomorrow.

Bloodwood should go nice with the brass...What's the loft on your putter?

what kind of shaft? a wood shaft would be interesting

steel center shaft, and 3 degrees loft

I put a wieght port in the back below the center line so that should produce a nice smooth roll. It runs inside from the back of the putter to 1 inch from the face. I also shaped the bottom for heel/toe relief. I am hoping to putt with it tomorrow and will give a nice review along with the pics.

Well, where's she at?

she is drying as we speak, took a little longer than expected and ran into a little mishap that set me back, it will be ready for pics tomorrow. Promise.

Not too bad for a first attempt....keep working at em, there only going to get better.....

so is the pattern on the face just form the wood or is it carved into that pattern?

that is actually the pattern on the wood, it is flat to the touch just the grain pattern, I thought it would be neat, kind of like milling marks.
