Great club. I've never hit the A4, but I've hit just about every other driver out there on sims and at demo days and nothing gives results like my FT-9 Tour does. I put a Diamana BB 63g stiff in it and it's a canon. I may u/g to an X flex soon, but can't say enough good things about this club.
the regular ft-9 driver is just .5 degrees closed i think. and the tour is a little open. the tour has a slightly more penetrating ball flight compared to the other also. i have both and i prefer the tour.
Interesting. Trying to decide between the 2 versions and I can't really tell the difference other than the open vs. close setup at address.
Does a more penetrating ball flight means less spin or something? According to Callaway, that is the only difference.
I do wonder if there's more though as the Tour version is probably designed for the higher swingspeed on tour.

I got the FT-9 Tour two weeks back from Callaway Preowned in "like new" condition. Brand new club, just like the previous 7 orders. My driver came with shrink wrap still on the head and stickers. Great way to get a good deal on this club. Go to the site, find the driver, click "reviews" and at the bottom of that page is the "Q&A" section where customers ask questions and the Callaway rep answers them. Lots of info there about the difference in the regular and tour version. The tour is one deg open where the regular is one deg closed. The tour comes in 9.5, 10.5, etc.. and has a heavier shaft as well. I am loving this driver. Best I have ever owned.

Just at the site, the FT-9 Tour 9.5 deg, stiff, neutral bias, "like new" is $267.

I picked up a 8.5* FT-9 Tour I-Mix at the Golftown sale a month ago, playing with a 73X WB. Good stable shaft and the ball just jumps off the face. Will more then likely go to a 9.5* as the 8.5* is just a little too low.

I have an FT-9 Tour 9.5* with a Project X (69g 6.5 flex) and it's an absolute beast of the tee. It gives me exactly what I'm looking for, mid lauch and low spin. I've never hit a driver as long or as accurate as I am right now.

I had a Fubuki 63 in it before and I thought that was a great combination but the Fubuki launches too high and didn't provide any roll.

Golfdom in Virginia has them for $249 brand new. Guess they are making room for the new stuff. I can't wait for the FT Tours to hit retail. Would definitely get it with a Blueboard 83 or Kai'li 70.

Oh man. I have an 8.5* FT-9 Tour i-mix with the Fubuki 63 Tour stiff, and it's been a dream to hit. Just a dream!

Seriously, the sound/feel is just so sweet and muted. The ball jumps off the face, and flattens out. I get a nice HIGH ballflight (which I like), and then it just flattens out and goes. It's easily the TRUE replacement of the FT-3 Tour, which was an outstanding driver for me.

I played yestereday and it was literally point and shoot. (Yes, I have fixed my swing finally, so that definitely helps)

And I love the i-mix technology too. I'm going to get a Fubuki 63 Tour X and a Whiteboard 73 stiff just for kicks to try in the summer!

Got the 9.5 Tour with Fubuki 63 tour shaft....I hit everything under the sun in April and it outperformed them all, has on the course....and for good measure I retested it against them all again last weekend and it still had better numbers.

In response to the original poster:

This club is probably one of the most reviewed/discussed drivers on this site over this past year. Just use the search feature and you will see what I mean. There are hundreds of reviews and comments so happy reading... you may want to grab a sandwich and get comfortable before you start....

FWIW, the FT-9 Tour is 1* open and the non-Tour is 1* closed. The Tour version is also lower trajectory (~2-3*, according to some) and lower spin.

i've been gaming ft-9 tour i-mix with tour (.335) fubuki and it's the best driver combo stick. it's not the longest but very forgiving, i call it sniper driver, very accurate. i'll be reshafting it to 70X kai'li and will write a review soon.
This is probably a recurring question with an obvious answer, but:

What are the main differences between 'regular' and 'Tour' drivers.
in terms of the Callaway Brand, with Tour you get 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 lofts. with regular drivers, you get 9, 10, 11 lofts. the shaft is usually stiffer on the Tour models, and most likely, more expensive shafts. weight is also heavier on the Tour models.

i've owned both at the same time and hit them the exact same distance into the monitor. I currently have a FT9 tour with whiteboard as my backup.

if you have a 9015d i don't feel you gain anything by switching, unless you like the look of it better. They look very different at address

I got mine with the stock Fuji Pro 65, which is a tight shaft with good balance, but has a slightly thicker butt section @ .620.

When on the monitors it yielded only slightly lower results for me than the Fubuki 63. (~1 mph, +50rpm) I do wish I had looked into the i-Mix head as I would like to try a few other shafts out in the real world. I could use a tad more launch and less spin.

Thanks to the Golf WRX community I am considering a Harrison Saga 70, Accuflex Creation 65 or a Matrix Ozik X-Con 6.

8.5° Tour with WB here, havent hit anything else in a long time as it gets the job done everytime. If you have trouble getting the ball up, go to the next loft up as it is a very low spinning head.

The Ft9 is going to be more forgiving than the 9015. I'm really amazed at how well the FT9 performs on off center strikes (especially low and toe). The 9015 is pretty good too, but I think the FT9 is more constant for those of us that don't always hit the ball in the same spot on the face.

Seems the Tour version is stronger than what the spec is. According to one of the video on Callaway website, a 9.5* loft measures more like an 8.3*.
Comparing them at address, I do notice the loft of the Tour version look stronger indeed.

Yes.

Smoking deals at that site in the last three weeks. Seems like a nice thing to let folks know where they can get a good deal. Especially if those folks are looking at buying the exact same club. All the clubs are brand new even though they are titled "like new". Stickers and shrink wrap is the norm. I got the driver for $240, it was $430 on The Golf Warehouse. Got the FT 3W and 5W for $107 each ($249 elsewhere). I got the FT hybrids (3h and 4h) for $74 each. These hybrids sell for $199. I have never offended anyone by saving them money. Got about ten PM's from folks that took advantage of the deals. Sorry for any stress this may have caused you.

You joined last month yet you have almost 500 posts and almost every post is about callaways preowned site. So how much are they paying you?

I think everyone on the board is aware of their preowned site by now.

I have mentioned deals at the Callaway site in 20 threads tops. Keep in mind since Thanksgiving weekend is when they have had all these killer deals. I bought new irons, hybrids, fairway woods, and a driver. Before making these purchases, I had threads finding info on the items myself. That is half of what you read most likely, the follow up after the purchase was made. I would like to think you could find something better to be offended by. 80% of my posts are in the flatstick and swing/instruction forums, not the equipment forum. If you have the time, click on my name and read all my old post and pick out the number of threads where I speak of Callaway Preowned. That should keep you busy for a bit:)

BTW if you google callaway golf their preowned site comes right up. It isn't like they are trying to keep it a secret.
